Boss Jim Magilton was unhappy with Town's "naive defending” and what was overall a disappointing display as the Blues drew 2-2 with Swansea at home.

Magilton said :"We turned off for both of their goals - it was naive defending and, overall, I was disappointed with the quality of our performance.

"We're not firing on all cylinders. We didn't show enough composure on the ball and we know we can play a lot better. In the end, it was a good point from our point of view.

"Swansea are a decent side and people who haven't seen them yet will be mightily impressed.

"We started brightly but couldn't sustain it. We allowed them a bit too much room and they played around us.

"Our goal went against the run of play a bit and, although it was a great finish, we were quite fortunate.

"That is what we want from Pablo, those runs in behind their defence, and when he does that he is a real threat.

"It was a great finish from him and, going in at half-time all you want is a clean sheet, yet we gave them a goal straight away. It's times like that as a manager when you pull your hair out.

"The second goal was a bad goal as well but probably came against the run of play. I thought the changes we made, with Owen and Tommy going on, gave us a platform to build on and certainly helped improve things, but then we are chasing the game after giving them another goal.

"And after they went in front, we showed great attitude and character to get back in the game.

"Pablo took his second goal well and that will be good for his confidence and, when you are a goal down with 10 minutes left, then you take the draw.

"So, it's a mixture of relief and disappointment. We didn't pass the ball well, certainly at the back and we were very panicky in that area and that shouldn't happen with the experience we have there.

"I can only think it's a sign of the nerves that we have playing at home because it's not like that in training or in away matches, but it's something the players have to deal with."

Swansea boss Roberto Martinez refused to have a go at the linesman despite his players feeling that Pablo Couñago's equaliser was offside: "It was a very, very difficult decision for the officials to make in a split second.

"If it had happened at the other end, I'm sure it would have been ruled out but we have to accept it and I'm not blaming the referee. I'm sure we'll get decisions in our favour when we play at home."

"If you concede goals like we did then it's always difficult to win matches. By our standards, they were both poor and that was a big disappointment.

"Ipswich didn't have to work very hard for either of their goals and we know we're better than that.

"But the positive was the fact we were able to come to such a difficult ground and impose ourselves in the manner we did.

"Overall, I was delighted with the performance and if we play like that in five games I'd expect us to win four of them."
