![]() Saturday, 30th Jun 2001 18:38 A number of Town players have been expressing their opinions on the world of art this weekend. This surprising departure is the brainchild of the Wolsey Art Gallery at Christchurch Mansion which will run an exhibition entitled Blues' Views for the next couple of months in an attempt to encourage people into the gallery and show another side to the Town stars. The players and some members of the off-field staff were given books containing paintings in the gallery's collection. They chose their favourites. The opinions varied from the considered ("Constable's paintings perfectly express the beauty of Suffolk and its countryside." - George Burley who chose The Mill Stream - John Constable) to the less insightful ("I used to live near a windmill" - Gary Croft, after picking Landscape with Windmill by Henry Bright). We'd always thought Croft was a bit of an Abstract-Expressionist, a man no stranger to Pollocks. The exhibition starts on July 23rd and continues until September 23rd at the Wolsey Art Gallery at Christchurch Mansion. Town say they have completed all the straightforward season ticket applications from existing season ticket holders. Your cash will have gone out of your account or on to your credit card over the last few days. Customer Service Manager Richard Powell said: "Next we have moved on to all those who have requested moves to see if we can help them. When that is done we will move on to deal with the new applications." 2000 people on the 4000+ Waiting List are getting the opportunity to have season tickets for Town's second season back in the Premiership.
