Civelli Targeting Pre-Christmas Return
Civelli Targeting Pre-Christmas Return
Tuesday, 27th Oct 2009 13:39

Midfielder Luciano Civelli is hoping to be back in action before Christmas. The Argentinian has been out of action since March after damaging his cruciate and medial knee ligaments.

Civelli told the club site: "I am getting there but I know there is still a lot more work to do.

"The injury was very hard to take at first. It's the first time I have been out for so long but you get a lift each time you get to the next stage and now I'm waiting to see the specialist, then hopefully I can move on again.

"The surgeon said that I would be out for maybe nine months and that is around Christmas, but I'm hoping to be back before then."

Civelli made eight appearances for the Blues last season having signed from Argentinian side Banfield for £1.1 million in January.

Excellent news. In fairness to Jim - a very good signing. Civelli, Norris, Leadbitter and Edwards. That would be a decent midfield. Can't wait!

With Norris and LC back, there should be no excuse for not having a dynamite midfield, given the options and the competition that should arise. 5 man mid, with a loan striker? Maybe Pablo just playing off Stead? Walters out wide right, Leadbitter playing in front of the back 4? A back 3, with wingbacks and two strikers and an attacking mid playing in a triangle of hope..... I'm losing it now.

Priskin... how much time do we give him? Has he has his chance? At £1.7m - I'd want a nailed on 1st XI / 1st choice player and 20 goals. Quite rightly, he's behind Pablo, Stead and Walters and Wickham isn't too far behind... not looking a good buy is he?

Please let us win a game, whoever is playing!

callumgarryskeemer - You still manage to surprise most on here with anything you type. Certainly the saddest muppet I have ever had to experience on any forum. I use the knob jockey term to describe very few people but you certainly are a total and utter KNOB JOCKEY. I almost pity you. Good luck Luca (and Chuck), looking forward to you both returning. great news about Luca he showed real promise before his injury, what I find funny is out of the midfield combinations people have been talking about Lee Martin hasn't once been mentioned in it. im sorry to say it but there's no way he is worth the 1.6 million we paid for him, bit part squad player at best. still think we could do with a creative midfielder who can dictate the play and make chances for our front men, would like us to get someone like ben watson, shame he went on loan to tragic's QPR team. We need at least 1 decent centre back, 2 would be better and a prolific striker who can score goals

This Norris and Leadbitter idea is very nice but are they too similar? Id like to see town play 3-5-2 to play these too together
