Magilton Leaves QPR Thursday, 17th Dec 2009 08:58
Former boss Jim Magilton has parted company with QPR “by mutual consent” along with his assistant John Gorman. Magilton was suspended last week after allegations that he headbutted midfielder Akos Buzsaky in a dressing room bust-up after their defeat to Watford.
A QPR statement says: “Recent events have been widely reported and whilst Jim Magilton completely denies the allegations, with the full support of John Gorman, it has been agreed that it is in the best interests of the club and Jim Magilton if the parties move on in their separate ways.
“The club would like to wish both Jim Magilton and John Gorman good luck in the future and thank them for their hard work.”
Magilton was sacked by Town in April and joined the West London club in the summer.
QPR have appointed former Portsmouth boss Paul Hart as Magilton's replacement.

kinda ironic really. 12 days before he was suposedly going to beat us and keano would get fired (acording to the papers) but now we are looking strong and qpr are a mess. HA!

A shame but not a surprise as i think Jim's position became untenable as soon as this incident happened, whatevr the rights and wrongs of it maybe. I would also expext Buszaky to leave QPR in window. Hopefully Jim will take a break from football to recharge the batteries with his family before returning to management in a year or 2. It would be a shame if the abiding memory of Jim's career was this moment

I was certainly one who was not too concerned when Jim departed from us - however, he was shaping things up resonably well at QPR and I wished him well. It seems he has very much been the victim of 'player power', and it shows how the 'tail now wags the dog' at some clubs - how sad is that for the future of the game? Another reason for having to pay £30+ to watch around 90 minutes of football I suppose - ridiculous as it undoubtedly is. Good Luck for the future Jim - most people would agree you deserve to be with a club that appreciates your competitive nature, whilst continuing on the learning curve of thankless Team Management.

Championship manager gets sacked shocker. I expect he'll pop up managing Stevenage at some point

I actually feel a bit sorry for Jim. He was always on a hiding to nothing at QPR, given their board's reputation for hiring and firing managers on a regular basis.

"Poisoned chalice" goes nowhere near describing the QPR manager's job. I feared for Jim the moment he was appointed - although at least he lasted longer than Ian Dowie. QPR are just making themselves a complete laughing stock. I think this, and the treatment of Brendan Rodgers ( in contrast to the patience afforded Keane) marks us out in these mad times as still a sensible, well-managed club.

Can't believe some are still backing Jim! Evidence isn't good and actually, yes I do blame Jim for the Rhodes sale. Many fans know (but fail to admit) the reasons behind it, but lets just say events at QPR prove why Rhodes was sold (oh and why Jim sacked his Dad!). Jim is a pitiful manager. Thank goodness he's not at our club. Why, Roy is still sorting out the mess he left us with - and it's now very evident - Jim totally lost the dressing room. Good try Jim lovers, but his performance at QPR backs up what 80% of us expected. Jim's not up to it. Arrogant.

QPR should be disappointed because Jim could of got them alot. But never mind because Jim will be down Portman Road cheering us on. and he might just pitch invade to do some head butting lol

Not sure why people hate Jim so much? He was a great player at Portman road, great hat trick against Bolton last minute goal to keep us in the play off semi. Agree not the best manager we ever had but did a fairly good job, and remember he never had all Mr Evens money at the start, Brought Norris Walters Lucio both Wrights Mc Audley Bruce to the club, All seem to be gods at the minute!!! A man how loved the club and applied for a job and was appointed by the board at the time. He did his best but in the end not up to the job. now seem to be hated by the so called fans who were jumping up and down at the last minute goal against Bolton!!! Strange
