Smith Staying With Brentford
Smith Staying With Brentford
Tuesday, 9th Mar 2010 09:52

Central defender Tommy Smith says boss Roy Keane has told him he can remain at Brentford until the end of his loan spell. Last month, Keane said he might consider recalling the newly capped New Zealand international before his 93 days at Griffin Park were up.

However, Smith says he has now been told that he will remain with the League One side: "Roy's happy for me to stay until my loan's up, then I'll have the last month of the season at Ipswich. He's keen to see how I've improved."

Smith, 20 later this month, has made seven appearances for the Bees since joining them on loan in January.

Oh everyone, including the younger members of the squad, is on first name terms with the manager then, are they? No wonder where we are in the table. I can't imagine Alex Ferguson or Brian Clough would ever have had any nonsense like that!! Tommy, you should be calling him 'Gaffer', 'Boss' or 'Mr Keane'.

Bennyblue - You have made you're point. No need to keep making the same point every time there is a new story on here.

TS is better off staying at Brentford for the time being. The first team squad is under a lot of pressure at the moment and that isn't the right environment for TS to be trying to gain 1st team experience in. Better to be out of it for now and playing regularly at Brentford.
