Clegg's Thanks to Fans
Clegg's Thanks to Fans
Wednesday, 10th Mar 2010 10:34

Town chief executive Simon Clegg has written to 88 supporters who attended all four of the Blues’ recent back-to-back away games to thank them for their commitment to the club.

Clegg wrote: “I fully recognise the time and expenses involved in travelling to away matches and I would like to thank you for the ongoing commitment you made to support the club at the matches at Queens Park Rangers, Peterborough, Sheffield Wednesday and Scunthorpe.

“Seven points from the maximum of 12 available was not a bad return but I think it says something about the ambition of this club that with the benefit of hindsight we were disappointed that we didn’t secure more.”

Meanwhile, former Charlton and West Ham boss Alan Curbishley was at Portman Road on Tuesday night along with his former assistant Mervyn Day. Curbishley, who is now available for work after settling his contract with the Hammers, is reported to have said that he was at the game to see his friend Dave Jones, the Cardiff manager.

Hats off to fans who went to every game, great stuff.
Unlucky if you only went to Peterborough like myself....

Hoo hoo hoo, ha ha ha.

"If I Had A Hammer" Watch the post's and forum now. This'll sort the "Keano's in" from the "Keano's out" brigade!!
Curb's and Day can see Dave Jones anytime they want! Why come to Portman Road? Luverly jubbly, no smoke without fire.
For the record. I'm a "Keano in" sort of a person.......... but..........!!!!

I went to two of the games and one of them was peterborough, the other against wednesday which was a solid performance from the lads and a deserved victory

Agree with Nunny hats off to all the fans who done the four especially Scunny on a tuesday night.

Got my watford ticket last week so i am looking forward to another away trip next tuesday.

UP THE TOWN!!!!!

I, unfortunately, went to Posh. I thought that it was the worst second half performance on ITFC record until a friend relayed me the story of the debacle that occurred at Blackpool!
Last night was better but we've still got a lot of work to do to cure the horrendous individual errors throughout the whole team. Needlessly losing possession, needlessly giving the ball away, needlessly hoofing it into thin air, needlesslessly wasting chances....... you get the drift?
A team with potential but nowhere near there yet.
Last nights result helped but we're from out of the mire yet boys.

Most decent of Mr Clegg to do that.

I went to Scunthorpe and was il after the game from teh cold. Never been so cold in my life!

As for Mr Curbishly and his side kick. I reserve judgement. I don't think any discussion would have involved such a public appearnece at Portman Road

That's a nice touch and good PR from Mr. Clegg. I wonder how many other clubs in the league even know who go to their away matches, let alone write to them and thank them.

Bergholtblue;
yes that is a nice touch and yes, all clubs who operate a telephone/internet booking service know exactly who has ordered what tickets.
If you turn up and pay at the gate for away games they'll have no records.

Just peterborough for me too, poor show, but hey 7 points in 12 wasn't that bad

Very impressive to all 88 of the boys. Personally, if I were Clegg, I would let them have the next away match ticket free. It would barely cost the club £2500 but would be a fantastic gesture.

Why do they tease me with this glimmer of hope of curbishey replacing keane????? Life is so cruel. When the reality is that keane will just keep us up and then reach the dizzy heights of midtable next season. Oh joy.......

I went to QPR, P'boro, and Sheff Wed.

Could I just get a memo perhaps, or a scribbled letter sent second class post?

Fact - sorry to spoil it for all you deluded Keno fans - I met Alan Brazil in the Marriott bar under the Twickenham South Stand after England v Ireland and will quote him........... "I can assure you from a very reliable source......unless Keno has a stunning end to the season, Curbs will be in the chair next season, Evans wants a return on his investment, this is no longer club that is prepared to wait"

mid table next season under keane i dunno i reckon IF we stay up it could be groundhog season all next season under keane to use his own terminology

jjb..............So you met Alan Brazil in a bar? Hmmmm. Is this the same Brazil that is pissed up more or less every night??
FFS what the f**k does brazil know about ITFC anymore???

Anyway, my dog is a good friend of Keano's dogs and they often have a chat together while playing up the park and they often discuss football....Anyway his dog tells my dog that Keane will be here next season and that he will get it right...

Some Ipswich fans think we have a divine right to be in the top six and have the right to beat every team. Give the bloke a chance ffs!!!

Clever Cleggy. Knows how to get the 'genuine hardcore' loyals on his side. Seems a sincere bloke though and not just a poor PR stunt. He should get on TWTD and appeal to the rest of the 'hardcore fans' now that slag him off, his appointments (Keano) and the rest of his squad & his boss? I'm sure he can convince the moaners that call themselves so called fans to change their mind.

If you didnt like food a chef serves at a restaurant, would you still go back and eat there? No, so why do some people moan all the time and still go back for more, then keep on moaning, then back again - oh because they think they're SUPPORTERS? SUPPORT = to lift or carry weight? Just go and support NCFC. I hear the foods even worse there.
