Leeds and Charlton Chasing Blues

Exiting defender David Wright is interesting newly-promoted Leeds United and League One Charlton Athletic. The Addicks are also understood to be considering a move for their former striker Kevin Lisbie, having previously been linked with Richard Wright.

Both Wrights were released at the end of the season, while Lisbie has another year left on his Town contract.

Lisbie is also likely to be targeted by his other former club Colchester United, with whom he spent 2009/10 on loan, while Millwall, who announced that Town midfielder Liam Trotter had agreed to join them earlier this afternoon, have previously expressed an interest in the 32-year-old.

Charlton want Lisbie - great news! Let's off load him now. Can we pay Charlton to take him? Anyone available to drive him?

Re the Norwich v Ipswich debate. There are pluses and negatives for both. Ipswich have a better ground - fact. Ipswich also have better potential for signing players - in terms of transfer fees at least as well as wages. However, if honest, Norwich seems a better place. Has to be said. It has better shops and the City is better than Ipswich. But this is football and personally I think this club has a better chance than Norwich.

I'm not hugely fussed about the delay in signing players, so long as RK brings in the RIGHT players (ie no more expensive workshy dross)

The worry to me is that RK has 5 or so players he is after - I believe 2 players he was interested in have moved - my maths is not that good but dose it leave RK with 3 targets. I trust in him but i am praying we do not have that mad rush and sign rubbish. I hope RK has a few tricks us fans do not see coming and we call him pure genius !!!!!!.

David Wright should stay at ITFC with Roy Keane on the transfer list ! ( trouble is I doubt if there would be any takers )

If you understandthe mentality of footballers, it's £s in the pocket, and/or potential of success, that dictates whether a move is attractive - or the opinion of her indoors - not the geographical location. In any event, why knock the area; perhaps it's because we haven't lived elsewhere. Think of the past. Did Hunter, Beattie, Mills, Hamilton etc. up sticks once their careers were over? No, they love it here and, in current times, David Wright has said similar. So are the previous comments sensible debate? I'm not convinced.

David Wrights kids are settled in a local private school and he "loves the area"...so any club he goes to will be relatively local I suspexct !
