Murphy Completes Celtic Move
Friday, 16th Jul 2010 15:51

Former loanee Daryl Murphy has completed his move from Sunderland to Celtic or a fee believed to be £1.3 million. Murphy has signed a three-year deal at Parkhead.

The Irishman scored six goals in 18 games during a loan spell during the second half of last season and was understood to be keen on a permanent switch to Portman Road.

Elsewhere, Swansea have confirmed the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as their new manager. Rodgers was understood to be amongst Roy Keane’s potential targets for the new role of Town assistant manager.

Meanwhile, ex-Town striker Darryl Knights has signed for Blue Square North side Newport County.

Not our 20 a season man....... But lets be honest my one legged, 6 fingered, 1 kidneyed, waiting a hip op, suffering from varicous veins, 98 yr old Grandma could score 20 goals a season in the Scottish Prem League!!..... Did ok at PR as Chambers as said his goals probably kept us in the Champ, so good luck to him.

Good Luck Murphy. Didn't think you were too bad when watching you, but just thought you were abit lazy and your heart wasn't there. But you helped keep us up.

I'm glad we didn't sign waste of wages

Why does he wear that scarf all year round?! ;-)

I agree with the comments above. Let's sign a quality striker or an exciting young striker. I notice that Michael Chopra is 2nd favourite to be top Championship goal scorer next season, behind Kris Boyd. 3rd favourite is Nicky Maynard, what a shame we didn't buy him when we had the chance.

Glad to see him go to Scotland to be honest, did get some important goal for us though. I think we might regret not signing Simeon Jackson from the Gills. Seen him play several times and he's a good finisher in the David Johnson mould.
Pity he's become a scummer we could live to regret that one?
