Keane: No Loanee This Week
Keane: No Loanee This Week

Town manager Roy Keane says the Blues are still to land their Premier League loan target but that he hopes the signing will be completed next week.

Keane said: “No luck so far. Nothing’s gone wrong, we always knew it was going to be tough to get the deal done and that’s how it’s proving to be.

“I’m not really involved in the negotiations, the two clubs are and we just need to focus on the players who are available for the weekend.”

Keane is hopeful that his target will arrive at Portman Road next week: “I still think it will happen, but we’re now maybe looking at next week.

“That’s the way it is when you’re negotiating with a club, they might have injury problems and they might want to cover themselves for a couple of weeks, which I understand. Clubs have lots of games and it’s no problem.

“We’re dead relaxed about it, we’d like to get one or two in as I still think we’re short, but I’d rather wait another week to wait for the player I want.”

Keane says defender Darren O’Dea is a big doubt for Saturday’s game against Cardiff due to his knee injury.

Brian I have to say I have never seen our three midfielders as 'tough'.....Norris jumps in with needless tackles and rarely wins the ball, hence the yellow cards. Leadbitter is very similar but I'd rather have him in my team. Hyam looks good but I think could be very out of depth against a good side, like he was against qpr. Basically they are all very small and lightweight, I just think we need someone big, and really commanding in the centre midfield.

Graham Kavanagh? At least it would mean we would have signed somebody.
Looks like it was Joe Mattock all along (left back-West Brom). Surprised at this as thought it could be Colback- maybe Colback is unavailable.
Anyone but Jack Midson..can't see how he would aid our push to promotion....
A Premier loan signing would hopefully rekindle the spirit of the club and help us move towards better and greater things....

I still don't think we have that 20 + goal striker. Or maybe we have and the service to them is poor to non-existant. We need someone to make us more potent in the last third of the field, either from a stiker or a creative midfielder.
