Season Ticket Offer Boosts Crowd for Cardiff Clash
Season Ticket Offer Boosts Crowd for Cardiff Clash
Friday, 17th Sep 2010 10:02

Town are expecting a crowd of more than 21,000 when Cardiff City visit Portman Road tomorrow afternoon. The Blues are running a promotion in which season ticket holders can buy four additional seats at discounted prices.

Season ticket holders are able to purchase seats for friends and family at £10 for adults, £8 for seniors/students/under-20s and £3 for under-16s.

Full details are on the club site here.

Edit: Town have subsequently revised this estimate up to "close on 23,000", presumably as a direct result of our story.

I agree with a lot of supporters on here that the pricing is far to expensive. I pick and choose which games to go to now due to work comitments but if you want to walk up on the day of the game it's close to £50 for me and my son just to get in without programme food drink etc.

I've said it many times before, but will nonetheless repeat myself: match day ticket prices are too high. The CHEAPEST adults tickets in the stadium for Band B games cost £29.50 on the day. They are £2.50 cheaper in advance, but then a £1.00 transaction fee applies.

A ticket in my block on the day costs £33.50. I pay £20.60 with my season ticket. Why the 65% difference?! That is what is keeping people away: fans who have lapsed and may come back, new fans who could become supporters of the future or just people who cannot afford to go.

PLEASE REDUCE MATCH DAY TICKET PRICES! The promotion is a start.

I suggest you join an ITFC supporters club branch, eg London or Clacton from your name, there will certainly be someone there who would be only to happy to let you have a ticket for a tenner.

Its a disgrace that we consider 21k a good attendance. Merely 2 seasons ago, 25k was not unheard of. Whats the matter with our fans?

The prices are diabolical, there's no atmosphere and the fare on the pitch is often crap at PR. So I do most of my supporting at away matches. Section 6 were posting on Facebook that the police and stewards were harassing them on Tuesday. The one attempt to generate a bit of noise and enthusiasm in the ground and it gets stamped on

With the current numbers being quite low.. Why not offer these tickets for some time before the match to season ticket holders and then put the rest on general sale?!?!?!
I have a couple of season tickets but I can see the problem for others.... We need to get more voices down at Pittman road! Just an idea.....
