Ghoul Action at Portman Road
Ghoul Action at Portman Road
Thursday, 28th Oct 2010 11:23

There’ll be ghoul action as well as goal action at Portman Road on Saturday with children being encouraged to attend the match against Millwall in Halloween costume.

The best-dressed youngster will be picked from the crowd during the first half and will get the chance to take a half-time ‘pumpkin penalty’ against npower’s Wasteful Energy Witch.

Those taking part should make sure their costumes are easily spotted by ghost hunters who will be scanning the terraces during the opening 45 minutes.

Anyone scoring from the spot will receive a Wallace and Gromit-themed energy pack for their school from Football League sponsor npower, who are backing similar events across the country, to ward off the demons of energy inefficiency, and a bumper pack of goodies from Ipswich Town.

Sue Heritage from npower said: “We’re looking forward to seeing young fans from all teams, showing true community spirit to win prizes for their school in this fun and spook-filled day.”

Those not at a match this weekend can make their own unique energy efficient npower pumpkin on their Wallace and Gromit-themed website here.

What a sad day when ITFC are coming out with this promotional nonsense ... and nPower trying to be green by brainwashing kids with the "Wasteful Energy Witch" yeah I am sure they care about wasted energy .... half these kids are a big income for them when they are sitting all day on their games consoles.

Anyone remember Captain Planet? The original far left brainwashing character for children, he once defeated Hitler (who could harm CP with his racism, which is a form of polution) and solved the problems in Northern Ireland by making them love eachother again by showing them the effects of a nuclear bomb....

Ah Americans, you are so wise ;)

How about as it was half term why didn't they do the Northampton game for adults a tenner and kids a pound?

Wonder how many would have come again on saturday?

A better idea would have been kids in Fancy Dress get in for half price. We don't seem to do enough to encourage people through the gates more. There never seem to be any incentives. Kids for a quid, twice a season should be a must in my opinion.

I think wtaching Keane's bewildering tactics would be frightening enough for the youngsters. Also, the winner can watch Keano during the half time team talk - that would be pretty scary when he assaults the tactics board !!!

I used to laugh at other clubs who encouraged fans to dress up

I got the impression they weren't serious clubs and would do anything to get fans through the gate

Now we're one of them!

I wouldn't bank on there being goal action to be honest.

I feel sorry for the person that scans the away end. I have a feeling that there will be several "ghouls" in there.
