Fülöp Starts for Hungary
Fülöp Starts for Hungary
Wednesday, 17th Nov 2010 14:09

Town keeper Márton Fülöp has been named in Hungary’s starting XI for their friendly with Lithuania in Budapest this evening. Blues striker Tamás Priskin will be on the bench.

Fülöp will be winning his 22nd cap, while Priskin will be looking to add to his seven goals in 29 Hungary appearances if he gets on.

The pair were watched by international manager Sándor Egervári during the Blues’ recent 2-0 victory over Millwall: "It was pleasing to see that both players were in the team and both performed well in the clash.

"Priskin assisted for the first goal and for the second the foul was committed against him for Ipswich's penalty. He was clearly the dominant player for his team and did much help his side win."

Meanwhile, Town defender Troy Brown has been named amongst the subs for the Wales U21 friendly with Austria at Newport this evening. If he comes on, Brown will win his first cap at U21 level.

Loanee defender Darren O'Dea is amongst a number of other Town players in international action this evening.

Hungary: Márton Fülöp, Pál Lázár, Zoltán Lipták, Roland Juhász, Zsolt Laczkó, Péter Czvitkovics, Vladimir Koman, Ákos Elek, Balázs Dzsudzsák, Gergely Rudolf, Ádám Szalai.

Cobbold, not so sure at least he wont turn up in his grey tracky bottoms like the last GK! Prisken really deserved a start, lets hope he gets a good 45 mins.

I think we should play Brian at Hull, I think Marton is showing the stress signs and would benifit fromma break and Brian would benifit from playing!

blueisthecolor - maybe being picked by his country will give him the confidence he needs back? TBH who wouldnt look at bit nervy with our current defence system, particularly with the big man out for a while?

bluelady - Thats my point, he is a damn good keeper but we had the same last year with Richard Wright when the defense was shakey. I think a break will do him good.

COYB we can beat Hull and up the table we go!!

The best recovery for a keeper is to keep playing games top recover confidence and sharpness. Remember the problem we had a few years ago with Jim chopping and changing keepers every second game???
Changing keeper certainly doesnt help the defensive unit either. RK has picked Fulop as No 1 and should stick with him.

If you have a betfair account then the live video player on there is showing it I think and is excellent picture quality, I know it's nearly half time but will be able to watch all the 2nd half, hope that helps.

blueisthecolour think i was in agreement, but saying maybe this match will be that boost he needs to get confidence back? hard one - being dropped means he also has to then regain his belief?? Im hp whoever is in goal, just the back 4 that concerns me

I dont know how that happened, for me they got it the wrong way round, Priskin should be starting and Fulop should be on the bench. i mean in the last few games ive been pretty worried about Fulop. He has been very indesisive about coming for crosses and just seems to get caught in no- mans land way to many times for my liking. However i think Priskin definatly deseved a seems like a completly new player from 12 months ago if only we had a player who can give him a bit better service i think he could be a 15-20 goal a season striker for us :)

Yes very strange. Priskin on fire, leave him on bench. Fulup as safe as a colander, play him. Are they (Hungary) trying to give him a morale boost. Oh, the world doesn't work like that does it?!
