Wickham Named Championship Player of the Month
Wickham Named Championship Player of the Month
Friday, 4th Mar 2011 09:46

Town striker Connor Wickham has been named the npower Championship Player of the Month for February.

Wickham, who scored four goals during the month including his first senior hat-trick in the 6-0 defeat of Doncaster, beat Matty Fryatt of Hull, Leicester’s Andy King and QPR's Heidar Helguson to pick up the gong.

Boss Paul Jewell told the club site: “We're obviously delighted for Connor. It's been a good month for him, with the hat-trick at Doncaster and some very good performances around that.

"A lot has obviously been spoken about Connor and he's got loads of potential. He is making good progress and we don't have to try and keep his feet on the ground either because he's a very level-headed lad."

Well done Connor!

Works either way for us. Gives him more confidence so he should carry on getting better, plus also adds a few pounds to his value if he was to ever be sold.

Now let's take down Cardiff! :)

Congratulations on an award that is surely the first of many.
rayman 10:- Talking of the kiss of death. Lets just hope that tomorrow he doesn't come out too fired up and gets sent off. Let your undoubted skill do the business and not the argy-bargy bit.

I think this will really help the lad. A good confidence boost to bring into tomorrows game. Well done Connor and Jewell for giving him the chance with a consistant run in the team.
