McLoughlin Joins O'Connor in Irish U21s

Keeper Ian McLoughlin has joined his Town team-mate Shane O’Connor in the Republic of Ireland U21 squad playing a friendly in Portugal on Friday 25th March. McLoughlin, who is currently on a month’s loan at Stockport, has previously won one cap, coming on as a sub and saving a penalty.

O’Connor is yet to be capped at U21 level having been forced to withdraw from squads with a torn hamstring and a suspected bout of appendicitis this season.

Republic of Ireland U21s: Ian McLoughlin - Stockport County (on loan from Ipswich Town), Michael Quirke - Coventry City, Richie Towell - Hibernian (on loan from Celtic), Shane Duffy - Everton, Gavin Gunning — Motherwell (on loan from Blackburn Rovers), Shane O'Connor - Ipswich Town, Rob Kiernan - Wycombe Wanderers (on loan from Watford), Damian McCrory - Dagenham & Redbridge, Adam Barton - Preston North End, Mark Connolly - Bolton Wanderers, Conor Henderson - Arsenal, Jamie Devitt - Hull City, Sean Scannell - Crystal Palace, Conor Clifford - Chelsea, James Collins - Shrewsbury Town, Joe Mason - Plymouth Argyle, Paddy Madden - Carlisle United.
