Town Face Wolves in Pre-Season
Thursday, 2nd Jun 2011 12:26

Town will play Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly at Portman Road this summer. Mick McCarthy’s men, who avoided relegation on the final day of the season, will be in Suffolk on Saturday 30th July (KO 3pm).

The Blues last faced Wolves during their 2008/09 Championship title-winning campaign when the Midlanders won 2-0 at Portman Road via goals from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and David Edwards and the match at Molineux ended in a 0-0 draw.

Details of the other pre-season fixtures announced so far can be found here.

Hope we don't pick up any injuries against them. Can think of better PL clubs. Hopefully the ticket prices will be reasonable i.e. around £10.00 at most.

Moan Moan Moan
All some people do is moan

It's a warm up game nothing more nothing less
What do the wolves fans think?
Prob " what a poor side we are playing they were a bottom half of the table side for most of the season, no name players, why play them? we are a premier league team and should be playing bigger clubs"

This time last year we had no new players, and about 2 friendlies arranged and people moaned.
This year we have about 10 friendlies arranged and people still moan.

Players, agents, chief executives, managers are for the most part going to be on holiday at the moment. Most players deals don't end until the end of June, if this is the market PJ is looking at mostly. We can't afford to pay wages for new players to put their feet up for most of May and all of June.

So why can't people be patient and trust the manager. With him, we are in a far better situation that with the last manager. You must all know that PJ will know exactly who is out there, who he wants, who has been released etc and he has been scouting where as Keane wouldn't have.
Why can't people take some heart that we are being linked with good players for the time being, not irish ones, or sunderland rejects.

Just enjoy the summer break and chill out a bit.
