Striker Connor Wickham will hope to be involved when England take on Ukraine in their second group game at the UEFA European U21 Championship tonight in Herning, Denmark (Sky Sports One/HD1 7pm). Elsewhere, Jaime Peters and Canada’s CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign has come to an early end with the Town man failing to play a single minute of the US-hosted tournament.

England drew their first game 1-1 with Spain with the Blues striker, who had suffered a minor ankle injury in training, left on the bench. Wickham has previously won three U21 caps.

Peters, who has 26 full caps, was again unused as Canada slipped out of the Gold Cup overnight. Panama scored a 91st minute equaliser which saw the final group game end 1-1 with the Canadians needing a win to go through.

Wouldn't be at all suprised if he were to slap in a transfer request to get a fresh start somewhere where he might just get playing time in a settled position. At least he isn't injured.

stoofer added 21:02 - Jun 15 sorry peters might sound a bit harsh but you have been played in many positions for town under different managers never nailed a regular place,plenty of effort but not quite good enough,maybe time for a fresh start.
