Defensive Woes Over?
Defensive Woes Over?

With Town recording their third clean sheet in a row and fourth in six games it seems the defensive frailties which dogged the last couple of months may have been cured. With five centre-halves used during this period (Mowbray, McGreal, Venus, Thetis and Brown) it seems that Town also have strength in depth in this area, especially as Adam Tanner and Titus Bramble are both reaching fitness after injuries. Now all we've got to do is get the goals going in at the other end...

George Burley seemed happy with lat night's performance: "The defence was solid, the midfield worked hard and up front James Scowcroft and David Johnson looked lively. We had to work hard for the points, but I felt we deserved the win."

Unusually the programme made quite interesting reading last night with Matt Holland claiming that striker David Johnson was mis-quoted as sying he wanted to be dropped after the Norwich game. The Town captain wrote of Johnson that "He was quoted as saying that he reckoned he deserved to be dropped after the game against Norwich on Sunday. I don't think that was the case. He actually said that the manager picks the team and he would accept it if the boss left him out. But I'm sure Johnno will be back to his best soon. All he needs is a goal to get him going."
