Swindon Want to Keep Murray
Swindon Want to Keep Murray
Monday, 9th Jan 2012 13:45

Swindon Town are keen to extend Ronan Murray’s loan until the end of the season when the Irishman’s current spell is up on January 14th. The 20-year-old has scored two goals in three starts and five sub appearances since joining the Robins in November.

Chairman Jeremy Wray says manager Paolo Di Canio is a big fan of the Town youngster, who is contracted until the end of the season: "Paolo has been very impressed with him.

“It's no secret he would like to extend it until the end of the season. If Ipswich let us do it, we'd love to and we'll see what happens after that."

Murray says he'd like to extend his time at the County Ground: “I’d like to stay. I am playing first team football and the last month and a half has been brilliant - playing games every week.

“I have enjoyed every minute and it is a brilliant club. There are not many more clubs in the country you would want to be at with all the headlines Swindon are getting."

........ I'm now waiting for the moronic idiots amongst us, to say the same as they did about Jordan Rhodes i.e he's not proved himself, Di Canio doesn't know a player (as if), the boy is too greedy, etc; - in other words the same CR#P we've heard time and again from the same group of no hopers.

All I will timely remind them of is:- JORDAN RHODES, JORDAN RHODES, JORDAN RHODES.

And yes, before someone slags me off - CHECK MY POSTS - and you will see I predicted Jordan's success - THE DAY HE WAS ALLOWED TO BE STOLEN FROM THIS CLUB. Argue with that lot - fact is you can't - with any of it.

Mark - amazed at your comment - How can you say that Murray should not be given a chance ahead of people like Ellington ??????????

All we do by not giving these youngsters a chance ahead of such geriatrics - is p#ss them off - Murray is now another to add to the forever increasing list.

Recipe for Disaster - but the disaster has already hit.

Perhaps we can work a deal. If they keep Murray to the end of the season, then we take Di'caneo as manager?

Cannot blame him for wanting to stay at Swindon, he is getting some game time even if it's off the bench. One of the big problems for younger players this season is that we only have 5 sub's. When you had 7 younger players often filled the last two places for just experience. Maybe we should go back to 7 but two of them have to be under 20 years of age?

Still no c/halfs signed I see. sorry to say this , and I hope I am wrong ,but 5-1 Birmingham

Another very talented youngster is allowed to gradually drift away with a whimper from our management... I can't see Ronan Murray staying at Town if his loan is extended to the end of the season, huge shame. This will be another one that comes back to haunt us one day

Sign him on a 2 year deal and either loan him out to Swindon or god forbid, actually give him a chance for us (they can have Priskin instead!). New CEO and Manager please....

A VERY BUSY ANNOYING LIttle player. always a handful to opposition defences and shows 1005 commitment. He definitely should have his contract extended. We are paying all these oldies a load more and half are doing nothing eg kennedy . If he was a bit taller he could be a top player.

Offer him a new contract now, for two reasons

1) He may actually be good enough, he seems to have done okay at his loan clubs so far and he's still young

2) It gives a better chance of selling him on for better money in the future, he could well demand if he continues to flourish at this level
