No FA Action Against Jewell
No FA Action Against Jewell
Thursday, 12th Jan 2012 17:48

The FA have confirmed that they'll be taking no action against Blues boss Paul Jewell for last night's post-match comments regarding assistant referee Amy Fearn.

An FA spokesperson said the Town manager will face "no further action" for his reaction to the officials not awarding what looked a certain penalty during the 2-1 defeat to Birmingham.

Good. And well done for coming out with this so quickly.

I wonder if the Ref's spokesman will apologise for his radio interview misinterpretation and manage to get out a press release that maintains the validity of his criticism of sexism but also makes it clear he was mistaken to imply that PJ is sexist.

I hope so.

Good, common sense prevails. Shame on the East Anglian Daily Times for giving it so much coverage. What a rag of a paper. Nothing of newsworthiness in the thing

Good!
they should have a word with Alan Leighton to tell him to stop being such a drama queen instead, isn't the first time he's thrown his rattle out of the pram over something petty. If he keeps on doing it he looses all integrity so will just get ignored when he really does have a point

Good. It is not sexist to point out someone's gender.

Ha- Scribble you are absolutely right- but i did know Mr Leighton was a man, just couldn't recall his name at the time. Had it been Mrs Leighton, i would have said spokeswoman, which, i am sure we are all aware is what you can use if you know that the spokesperson is a woman.

I am not sexist and i have the full backing of the club.

Want an all day argument? ;-)

Anyway...... any chance of this Football Club signing a couple of CB's and a RB. I believe we may need some !!

Does this mean Jewell was right and it was a penalty? Normally the FA only keeps schtum if their officials have mucked up

Good to hear and it is indeed the right decision, anyone who says otherwise is wrong, however had it been a top premiership manager making them comments it would have been a different story all together i dare say

Good - now let's move on. Starting by sacking PJ for being a truely terrible manager. 11 defeats in 14 and STILL no new CB. PJ OUT.

Good, now let's focus on the issues. It's 12th January and our only signing is a 3-month loanee goalkeeper with a 24-hour recall clause. Where are the young, hungry players we are all waiting for?! Some urgent investment in the side is needed or it looks like we could be relegated to League One. If you are going to stick with Paul Jewell Mr Evans, please give him some cash to spent quickly!

The EADT is a Norwich based paper, what more can we expect.

Thats the trouble with girlie refs. Can't take a joke. She should have stayed at home and cooked her old man's tea.

Look everyone, let's get this right. We NEED women in football.

Someone's got to serve the cups of tea at half time!

I have been seething about this, what i want is an apology from officals for their terrible decision not to give the penalty, me thinks they are trying to shift the spotlight.

Can the FA bring a charge against PJ for impersonating a football manager!

What happens to Amy this week.
In Australia, as I am, if a referee (umpire in AFL) made a decision as terribly wrong as this they'd be working at a lower level or two for a few weeks. Be very interesting to see if that applies in English football and whether it actually occurs.

Just viewed the highlights on Ipswich Player. Caldwell clearly tripped Martin in the box without even touching the ball. I hope that the FA looks at this...too late to change anything but they should be aware that it was another bad officiating error which cost us at least one point as well as the aftermath of the sexism rubbish . Well at least it got most of us behind Paul again. Let's hammer Blackpool...actually I'd settle for 1-0!

All this whitewash because the fourth official got it wrong, didn't give PJ an apology or us the penalty or any points. Worse ways we should have come away with a draw - who pays ? Our team end up more deflated than they already were after basically a good performance and Birmingham get the plaudits and all three points ! No wonder the FA aren't taking any further action [ that's why they're known as the Sweet FA ], bring on the instant replays to help refs get it right ! Rant over - sorry chaps, just feel a bit insenced over this, especially in our position.
