Jewell Watches Pompey Trio In Action - Updated Saturday, 28th Jan 2012 17:20
Town boss Paul Jewell was at London Road to watch his trio of Portsmouth targets — Jason Pearce, Joel Ward and Stephen Henderson — play the full 90 minutes as Pompey beat Peterborough United 3-0 in the Championship this afternoon, Pearce (pictured) heading home the second from a corner.
Talks between the clubs are understood to be continuing with the Blues believed to have offered £2 million for the three players.
Elsewhere, Tyrone Barnett, another player being eyed by the Blues, was in the Crawley side which won 1-0 at Hull City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. We understand Town had a scout watching the game.

Jewell was not on a jolly as some idiots put on here. Unlike keane jewell gets involved with contract talks so makes sence to be at game and start the contract talks . Portsmouth have to see simple other wise this time they will be wound up by the High court as the 3rd time there and tax revenue will force the issue this time. We will get 2 of them to sign Monday. Good job players don't read the posts on here by some of you .

i very much doubt we'll get these three. Ward and Pearce have both come through the pompey ranks and love the club. also Joseph Cala has renewed his interest in buying pompey and paying off the debt.

my friend lives in pompey and the story is pearce and ward do not want to leave no matter what, but then on pompeys web site it states in a statement that they may have no choice but to sell

Players signed in January hardly ever make an impact and generally just disrupt things although they couldn't disrupt us. If we're planning long term it's OK otherwise just stick with what we have. If he does sign them then Hyam,Murray..... will be back out on loan and I'd rather watch them play.

So, Danny Collins is off to Southampton.bthe last time I looked this was further south than ipswich. Doesn't this say something. Also an interesting note by Spartacus on eadt about jewells comments. We are derby mark 2 and people should wake up and smell the coffee that jewell is just not good enough.

Which one is a right back then? None. O well does not matter who we sign its relegation. the only people who don't see it are jewell clegg and evans. Still I have never been to crawley, carlisle, exeter, and so on. Different grounds err.
