Pearce Misses Portsmouth Training
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 11:35

Town target Jason Pearce is one of four Portsmouth players reported to be missing from Pompey training this morning.

The Blues’ other targets, keeper Stephen Henderson and midfielder or defender Joel Ward, are understood to be with the rest of the squad.

Sources on the south coast are reporting that Pearce, defender Tal Ben Haim, keeper Jamie Ashdown and winger Ryan Williams are all absent from this morning's session.

Australian youngster Williams is understood to be closing in on a £500,000 switch to Fulham.

Young defender Adam Webster and former Spurs centre-half Ricardo Rocha are also now reported not to have been spotted on the training field.

Ben Haim isn't a right back, he's a centre half.... we all know a player that plays at right back and is woeful because it's not his natural position

No thanks to Ben Haim, slower than a tortoise, and has as much ability as Ali Dia.

Cracking news, however doesnt necessarily mean he's on his way to town but it is very positive none the less. However, i saw a post earlier which was very valid. Gio dos santos is going nowhere again this window so why dont we offer him a loan at Town. He claimed to have enjoyed his last spell so i dont see why he wouldnt fancy it, Spurs dont mind loaning us a player as well with recent history showing townsend, livermore and dos santos all coming. All bubbling up nicely at the moment

I am quite excited about this turn of events. If he signs for us and we end up spanking West Ham tonight it will be good day.

Fingers crossed.

On a slightly different note rumours that Smith the Spurs RB is signing for Leeds cant help feel that we missed out on a good deal there that would have solved our perpetual problem with the right back postition

Lets be honest with ourselves here shall we

Over the years how many quality players have walked through our door or have even shown any interest of joining Town??

The links that keep being made with players is frankly quite boring because we never ever result in a signed on conclusion. We all get very excited by the players being touted but honestly when do we ever see them materialise?

Billy Sharp is another that sticks out for me, if we were really rating this guy and a decent player he is why did they not go all out for his signature. To now see him sign for Southampton for 1.8 Mil is beyond belief!!

There was nothing exciting about seeing Bullard, Bowyer & Co signing, what have they done for this club apart from feck all!! These 2 stick out as players who saw an opportunity to take a good few grand, they have no interest in playing for ITFC, Bullard has not even moved here.

We are in a sad downward spiral, and League 1 is definately where we will end up, i think it needs that to shake things up.

I for one would rather pay £50,000 for someone like Stevenson who is honoured and dazzled by coming to Ipswich, you watch that lad will have more hunger and desire than Bullard and Bowyer put together, what are they other than the forgotten men - Cue the next reports - Bullard still recovering from Flu - Bowyer to miss West Ham game - what a joke

And if Jordan Rhodes signs for Norwich and smashes it in the Prem I think i will consider being signed off work with stress...!!!

Maybe because he hasn't be paid?! I wonder if Southampton will hijack this one?

Strange that Doncaster didn't accpet our £2.3M offer for Sharp but accepted £1.8M from the Saints. We never even got a chance to speak with Sharp - very odd decision by the Donny board.
