Town Unchanged at Coventry
Town Unchanged at Coventry
Saturday, 4th Feb 2012 14:14

Town boss Paul Jewell has named an unchanged side for this afternoon’s game against bottom-of-the-table Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena. Keeper Alex McCarthy, back after a one-match ban, coming in for Richard Wright on the bench is the only change to the 16.

New signing Ryan Stevenson travelled with the squad for the first time but misses out along with Josh Carson.

Coventry make three changes from the team which lost 2-1 Blackpool last week with Richard Wood, Jordan Clarke and David Bell taking over from former Blue Hermann Hreidarsson, who dislocated his shoulder against the Seasiders, Cyrus Christie and Conor Thomas. Full preview here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Cresswell, Sonko Smith, Hyam, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas, Murphy, Martin, Chopra. Subs: McCarthy, Scotland, Delaney, Bullard, Leadbitter.

Coventry City: Murphy, Cranie, Keogh, Wood, Clarke, McSheffrey, Clingan (c), Deegan, Bell, Nimely, Platt. Subs: Dunn, Baker, Eastwod, Willis, Norwood.

I don't see the point of McCarthy returning, would also have liked to have seen Carson on the bench - in place of Bullard perhaps. However, other than that, seems very sensible. Would expect a decent win today.

Great news. Paul must have been on this site before picking the team! Coventry didn't really press us in the last encounter so lets go out and exploit that.
3-1.

Carson for leadbitter every time, leadbitter is not going to sign another contract so why bother putting him in the squad, also Carson might not now sign if he is not getting picked.
Same situation as last swain last few games he still played Norris and G Mac knowing they weren't going to sign just doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes!!!

Is Carson injured? I hope he hasn't just dropped him all together because this is the sort of game he can change, plus he won't sign his new contract!

yep same here cant see the point of macarthty or leadboots being on the bench, carson every time over leadboots, would keep bullard on there as he has loads of tools in his locker unlike grant who has a few cheep blunt chisels and thats it lol, but other than that wahoo lets skin some city boys today and get a good result.

Why oh why is a third choice Reading loanee prefered to one of our own players on the bench send him back asap. Agree though that we could do with having Carson on the bench instead of Leadboots or Bullard.

Did anyone know we'd lost 21 points from winning positions this season? This'll make it 24.
