Mowbray: McManus Not Joining Town
Monday, 13th Feb 2012 06:00

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray says Teessiders’ central defender Stephen McManus won’t be joining the Blues on loan. The former Celtic man has been linked with Town for some weeks with the Blues understood to have made an approach on the final day of the transfer window.

Mowbray said: “There’s been a lot of talk about it but for one reason or another, that deal isn’t going to happen.”

McManus, 29, previously turned down a loan move to Town when he was a Celtic player in the summer of 2009.

Centre backs are in the prime of their careers late 20's to mid 30's as opposed to strikers which is supposed to be early to mid 20's ,so the experts say .
So a player that could have the potential to play for another 6 years is building for the future in todays game where the squad changes from season to season

Building for the future is not only about age, it's also about quality.

Why not Mogga? You haven't even put him in the bench in the last three games!
I'd take him. Easily a better footballer than Sonko!
