Can our defense keep enough goals out? No.

before we beat West Ham 5-1 we were over 20 points behind now we are 9. We could do it but just have to rely on others slipping up, our run in is ok. We shouldnt give up hope yet!

I've predicted 69 points....bit optimistic with only a defeat away at Palace. Who knows, you can't write us off for them but i don't think we'll get there. Would we want to hit the play offs with the possibility of promotion? We'd be humiliated in the top flight with our defense i think!

We're only 3 points behind Leeds in 10th and I doubt many of their fans have completely given up hope of making the play offs.

The is no point being pessimistic - the worst that will happen is a mid table finish so we might as well get behind the team and see what happens

I predicted an unbeaten run in with only 2 draws as the dropped points...It meant we came out 6th, which I would be happy with!
I think we need to at least come close to help us attract the right kind of players over the summer - young hungry players in this league and league 1 who can see that this club has the potential to make it to the big time again!

Come on now... top 12 finish would turn the season into a good one, play offs are laughable, team have done well of late, which is great. Top 6 is purely fantasy

Saints ,Reading and West Ham can do us massive favours ,last three playoff places between Hull,Cardiff,Boro ,Brum and Town .I worked it out that we all finish within 2 points of each other ,our poor goal difference could prove costly ?
Least we are still talking about it i suppose

If I remember rightly we were in this same position last season and look how that turned out..

But Essex_Tractor is right, we might as well get behind the team

Come on friends, one match at a time please, that way there will not be all those tremendous highs and lows and think how euphoric we would all be if the impossible did happen. COYB

I think we'l get 69 points, with one draw and a loss against Birmingham in the run in, the point coming against Watford tomorrow. Its a massive ask, but if pick up 6 or 7 points in the next three games, things could really open up for us in the final month. Town have a history of doing well when odds are against us. Look at some of the scalps weve taken this term - think back to Royles reign and we were 9points clear before finishing third. I have a funny feeling that with no pressure on the boys, we could be there or there abouts come the final game.

I have us in 12th with 70 points come the end of the season.... We'll see, i guess. According to my predictions a loss converted to a win and we'd be close...

@onceabluealwaysablue - true but I'm not sure we had as many points this time last season as we do now do we? And I know we weren't in the form we're in now this time last season.

Based on the last 9 games another 20 points so 71, 10 better than last year so better but just a little short.
However the way some of the top teams are dropping points who knows
maybe just maybe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why did we go on a run once the Play-offs are just out of reach? Can't handle the pressure?

Frankley_Blue added 12:22 - Mar 23
Would be great but it's highly unlikely. Think I read that in the last three seasons only Newcastle finished the season with 8 wins out of 9 .... It can be done but it's not our style! LOL

I got 67 points and a goal difference of +1.

We will end up a little shy of the play-offs I think. But I have to say that our run of form recently has been the most exciting for years and if we end on a high this season it will give everyone at the club a real boost.

I am already looking forward to next season.

We have been poor in our last too games only to be saved by diabolical opposition. Watford are organised and strong + on a good run themselves. 2-0 to Watford probably.

Surco72 added 12:44 - Mar 23
Peterboro are so diabolical they beat Blackpool and Reading 3-1 either side of us beating them ?

Len_Brennan added 12:47 - Mar 23
Too many reasonably decent teams sides still in the mix would have to have a really poor finish AND we can't expect to keep this run of form going until the end, which would also be needed.
Injuries and fatigue will play a part - Drury has been a little sluggish of late, for him, and was rightly rested (not dropped, entirely different thing) and I would assume that JET and others will need similar understanding over the weeks to come with the schedule of games we have.
We will need Carson, Hyam and dare I say Bullard to come back into the team, and do as good as job as the regular starters of late have been doing, when their chance comes in order to keep the momentum going. Big ask.
