Hull Confirm Jakupović Signing
Hull Confirm Jakupović Signing
Monday, 9th Jul 2012 12:30

Hull City have confirmed the signing of Eldin Jakupović, who was on trial with Town at the end of last week, on a two-year deal. The Bosnian-born former Swiss international previously spent time on trial with the Tigers at the end of the last season and was offered a contract, which was withdrawn after the departure of then-manager Nick Barmby.

According to reports this morning, current Hull boss Steve Bruce was alerted that free agent Jakupović was still available by his presence at Town for his trial at Playford Road. The 27-year-old was due to spend a week with the Blues having joined up on Thursday.

Speaking then, Blues manager Paul Jewell said he has other keepers he is considering aside from the former Aris, Lokomotiv Moscow and Grasshoppers man: “We’re having a look at him for the week, but we’ve also got two or three other targets that even if that happens we might pursue.”

Jakupović has flown out to Portugal where the Tigers are holding a pre-season training camp.

Hull moved fast! So we gave him a trial and said good things about him, only for another team to benefit by signing him. Maybe we didn't want him after all, but if we did this is frustrating.

worse things have happened. as long as jewell signs a keeper before the first game of the season then no worries

Not too fussed about this, but it is concerning that clubs can tie up deals a lot quicker than us.

Mr. Clegg and the rest need to learn their A.B.C - Always Be Closing

I assume negotiations would have been quicker due to the fact that he nearly signed for them late last season.

Another player comes to their senses should be the headline. We're a joke...he chose to live in Hull over playing for us...Thats how bad we've become.

Tom Heaton, 26 and 6ft 3 is currently without a club and very highly rated. Sign him up Jewell. The only reason he left Cardiff is because he wants first team football and Marshall is the nailed on number 1. Did well in their Cup Final against Liverpool. Trust me on this one.

Great bit of business, invite a player over put them up in a hotel for a week, more than likely paid for the air fare, hope we didn't pay for the taxi up to Hull.

Oh well he looks like a cross between Gerard Pique and Joey Barton so he'd most likely be a f*ckwit.

Alvin who?...Alvin Jankoupovich? No great loss, never heard of him.

Think we should move on & get someone in this week. Dread the thought of leaving it go to the wire. I would love to have our signings sorted very soon so we can get the squad to blend.

Should Hull be sucessful with Getting Amos on Loan from Man Utd, I cant see Amos being a sub at Hull. This Jakupović (should his trial be a sucess) will be signing up to be Sub with Amos getting the majority of first team games to improve his chances at Man Utd. If his trial were to be a sucess at Town, he would have had a higher chance of commanding the No.1 shirt over ALB.

Oh well, Mr Riedmuller or Mr Loach if you please...

Tom Heaton's move to Watford has fallen through apparently, could we move for him? Id have preferred him to join them and us get Loach but could definitely do worse i think.

Not a huge loss...he seems happy to probably not be a number 1.

Taylor from Man City is free and wants first team football, better option than most of the above imo
