Loach Signing Confirmed
Loach Signing Confirmed
Thursday, 19th Jul 2012 15:56

Town have confirmed the signing of Watford keeper Scott Loach on a three-year deal with the option of a further year. The Blues agreed a fee of £150,000 with the Hornets earlier in the week with the 24-year-old undergoing a Portman Road medical last night.

Loach has made no secret of his desire to play for the club, having played for the academy as a schoolboy before moving on to the Nottingham Forest, Chesterfield and Lincoln City youth set-ups.

Speaking to the Town programme when the Blues played the Hornets last season, the former England U21 international said: "I've always been an Ipswich supporter and it is here where my goalkeeping education started, so I will always be thankful to the club for that."

Glad we've finally solved our keeper issues, I will admit that I have my doubts over Loach and he wasn't my first choice but I shall welcome him to Portman Road and hopefully he will show me that I was wrong do have any doubts about his ability.
Still need another GK although not priority but CB, LM, CF and maybe another CM are needed.
COYB!!!

This is fantastic news!

Welcome back to Portman Road Scott.

It's been far too long since we had a clearly established no: 1 who has had a long run of games in the side.

The 4 year contract (with an option for a further year) is surely a great statement of faith in Loach from the management & club and will hopefully boost Scott's confidence.

We now have a young and promising back line! We can't expect miracles in expecting them all to gel instantly the moment they get on the pitch but if they're given time & a run of games to play together along with support from the crowd I hope that we will improve and have a much more settled back 4 than in recent seasons.

I can't wait to welcome Loach back to Portman Rd and let's give him and the rest of the team the support that they deserve. By backing the team as the 12th man this can only help the entire team as the silence & moans/ groans from some doesn't do anybody any good.

I have a really positive feeling about our new approach to building a team and can't wait for the season to start. COYB!

Wonderful news! In a new seat this time at Portman Road, in the cobbold stand. Can't wait until the season gets started! One thing, is there any more news if Kourouma is closer to signing yet?
