Zubar Moves to France
Wednesday, 30th Jan 2013 12:48
Reported Town target Ronald Zubar will join AC Ajaccio before the transfer window closes tomorrow, the French side has confirmed.
Guadeloupe-born Zubar, 27, was one of a number of Wolves players said to have been on their former boss Mick McCarthy's wish list, with Richard Stearman and Frank Nouble both having moved from Molineux to Portman Road during this transfer window.
Elsewhere, former Blues striker Connor Wickham is reported to have been offered on loan to Swansea by Sunderland as a makeweight in the proposed deal which would see Danny Graham move in the opposite direction.

Wickham as a makeweight for Danny Graham?! I never would've thought that would happen when we sold him. Big shame, if only we were brave enough to have held onto him for another year or two, if he'd continued his development he could only have been worth more. As it stands on paper, it looks like we got a good deal for him now, but we know the truth that he could've been worth so much more

We got a super price for Wickham, as has been moved by his failure to get into the Sunderland team. The disappointment was that we did not reinvest the £8M on younger players to rebuild the side (Cresswell and Emmanuel-Thomas aside).

Alex, spot on .i fully agree with you, just a shame we let him go so early.

The relatively large sum of money we got for Wickham makes me feel slightly better about the paltry sum we got for a promising Jordan Rhodes! Kinda feel it balanced itself up. Imagine having them both now though, eh!

Only a little bit better though I presume Chicago Blue.

Please dont lets start all this Wickham nonsense.......a young player had a good start to his career, moved on then failed.....the game is littered with them.....we got £8m for potential that so far hasnt (and in my opinion never will) materialised. Get over it!!! Hindsight is a wonderful asset but the player we possibly did let go to early (finances dictated we had too) was Bramble. Has any ex Town player played so many games in the Premiership....answers on a postcard to...................

Can't believe people are saying that if we'd held on to him we'd have got more. We got a staggering figure for a young, unproven player purely based on potential. Now he's been up to the Prem and the person who paid said staggering sum doesn't rate him highly enough to be at their club, people seem to think that makes him more valuable if he'd been at Town? An unproven 18 yo is worth considerably more than a 20yo, I for one am delighted that we took the money and ran, though I absolutely echo the sentiment of Mark in that it could have been so much more wisely invested.

Wickham has been offered on LOAN as a makeweight for Graham ie Sunderland want to hold on to him. I don't believe Sunderland have given up on him and I think £8 million could still prove to be a fair price for them.

Course they want to hold on to him, and rightly so, he's a quality young player and they paid a shedload of cash for him. If Swansea will give him games instead of playing Michu up front on his own (though I hope not from a Fantasy Football perspective), then that's the right thing for him to do. I still think that holding on to him and him playing another 40 games for Town wouldn't have increased his price though.
