Town Drop to 20th
Tuesday, 26th Feb 2013 22:11

Town dropped to 20th in the Championship this evening after their weekend opponents Huddersfield - who are up to 18th - beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor. The Blues remain four points from the drop zone on 39.

There was better news for Town at the Reebok Stadium where Bolton, who are now up to 10th having been in the relegation battle themselves only a matter of weeks ago, beat table-proppers Peterborough United 1-0.

Elsewhere, Leicester City, who are at Portman Road on Saturday, beat Blackburn 3-0 at home having previously gone four games without a win.

On the loan front, Jack Ainsley made his debut alongside fellow Town man Joe Whight as Blue Square Bet South side Chelmsford City lost 2-0 at Bromley.

In League Two, Ronan Murray played the full 90 minutes as his Plymouth side drew 1-1 at AFC Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, the club site has photos of the first team squad during today’s bonding trip to Tendring in Essex for a spot of paintballing.

Kerryblue, despite Chopra's lack of appearances, especially under Mick's set up, he has given us 10 points this season almost single handedly. I am sure people like you would happily not have those points just because you are a judgemental bunch. Cutting off your nose to spite your face. Some of the so called 'fans' on here seem to treat supporting 'their' team as a chance just to act like a bully and know it all. If you knew so much about football you would have your place out there managing one or kicking it about the pitch for a few grand a week. Why be so vindictive and vile in your posts about Ipswich players, which I have noticed you often are, they are people you know, don't take out your failings on them.

Tough games ahead bit know MM and TC will find points.Have a feeling Chops may become vital to our successful survival campaign.

Hit the minus button as you do - but looking at what's ahead in terms of remaining fixtures, we need to produce some GOALS from somewhere - BUT WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO COME FROM ... ???

Smithy rues the first 13 games - accepted - but what about games since the new year arrived and points tally from such ???

Can't believe MM & Co would rely on boring draws once DJ departed - being enough to see us safe.

Oh well - time will tell - but far too many people not being terribly concerned about going down - to rebuild.
POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS - to my way of thinking anyway.

Don't forget to hit the minus button - all you short sighted optimists. As if you would .....!!

Don't think that saturday is a MUST win game at all! Let's be honest who actually expects us to get anything against Leicester? If you offer me a draw on saturday i'd snap your hand off! The 4 key games are Peterborough, Bolton, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham for me.

If all games in hand are played and won by those in the zone then they remain below us. We couldn't say that before as Peterborough could have caught us. So this is actually a good set of results for us - also good is the news that Boyd is now at Hull and that pretty much finishes Peterborough off IMO.
Agent Scotland, you know what you have to do!

Have to agree not sure other opponents results should be an article on it's own...and the more we have articles like this the more it will do only to spread pessimism and panic in our own ranks. I thought it was all about what we do rather than have to rely on other teams results, to me it's all about Mick & Co telling the players that the season starts now and forget about what has happened between now and the New Year - to me just lately Mick has been a little on the negative side with some of his press and pre-match interviews.

Algarvefan stop washing the lucky pants and the goals will flow. Just hope you don't have a seat in the lower SBR stand near me. Don't wash the luck out of them

What a bunch off fickle people town supporters are, cant blame the manager at the moment, so lets start slagging off the players. try supporting the players believe the dream. I have said all along give Choppra the service and HE WILL SCORE. GOYB

Why not? SEB doesn't want to be at wolves and JET plays like he don't want to be at town!!

h32. Quite agree with you (this is getting a bit of a habit!!!). If we go down, of which there IS a fair chance people, it will be disastrous for our club. Crowds WILL plummet, players WILL be sold, it WILL be bloody hard to attract any one decent on the playing front, ME WILL want out, MM & TC WILL more than likely leave & rebuilding our once proud & revered club WILL take a long time, if at all.

I agree with pinewoodblueboy and H32, we have to be more realistic rather than have blind faith we will suddenly turn into Barcelona!

MM knows this, he said it the day he arrived, hence accepting scrapping for the point at Huddersfield. I can't think of many other Managers I would rather have at the helm than MM.

However we HAVE to start creating more chances, scoring more goals if we are to have any chance of survival rather than hoping other teams dont continue to keep picking points up.

Its about who has the balls to hold their nerves and fight, scrap and scramble wins.

Its coming up to sqeaky bum time guys but keep the faith, I think it will go to the wire but we should just about be ok.

pinewoodblueboy, i agree with what you say in your post, but have to make a point about your crowds WILL plummet comment. not saying youre wrong, but doesnt that tell you what poor fans we have at this club? when man city went down to the 3rd tier they maintained crowds of 35000, norwich had 20000+ crowds, but we would prob be looking i guess at around 10-12000. so maybe those fans who will dessert the team should take a look at themselves and ask themselves do they support this club or not. i for 1 can answer this honestly with a yes as i shall be there as a season ticket holder next season whatever division we are in.

This headline along with a picture of an empty Portman Road is a most depressing sight at the top of the page. Isn't there a story about Reece Brown's haircut or Michael Chopra doing something daft that could replace it?

Wolves vs Watford will be a crucial match.
If Watford can get an away win and we can (somehow) snatch a 1-0 win against Leicester then it will be a very good weekend.
We have home advantage. Lets make it pay. Treat it like a cup match. Winner takes all.
Can see Barnsley getting a draw.
Bristol and Peter should both lose.
It is worrying times again for us. We are counting really on other teams slipping up.....
