Stevenage Praise for Town Support
Stevenage Praise for Town Support

Stevenage have written to Town to praise the almost-1,400-strong Blues support at Broadhall Way for last night’s Capital One Cup tie, which Boro won 2-0.

In an email, the League One side's safety officer, Steve Fanthorp, wrote: “Could you please pass on to the club how well behaved your supporters were at last night's game, even though the tie went against them.

“The away section of our ground has 1,390 seats and 1,313 turned up to support Ipswich. Due to a late walk-up and certain turnstile issues, around 50/60 fans missed the first five minutes and, to their credit, they did not complain.

“During the game they were very compliant and did not cause us any issues whatsoever. This all added to a great atmosphere on a traditional Cup night.

“At my post-match debrief with the stand supervisors, they both commented on how well behaved and friendly the Ipswich supporters all were. They are a credit to your club.”

Unfortunately back in Norway after a great week. And as the story says, our fans are magnificent!
Sang all game, and will keep doing that when I return in september, but hopefully with better results. We'll come good as the season gets underway, be patient folks

Town do have great away support especially to away games in the south - and are generally well mannered. Even when that Norwich fan walked past us as we queued up to buy tickets abuse could have been hurled. But we travel well, are well behaved and all of us that went on tuesday can take pride when hearing such praise in supporting such a great club with great support...
