Boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that Northern Irish international midfielder Josh Carson has spent time with Chris Kiwomya’s Notts County this week and is also interesting SPL Hibernian. Carson, 20, had previously been on trial at Bristol City but without winning a move to the League One side.

McCarthy said: “He went to Notts County, he played in an U21 game for them, Hibs are interested in having a look at him, apparently. He is available to go from here.”

The Town boss says he’s not pursuing his interest in 20-year-old Bristol City midfielder Luke Dobie, who has been on trial at Portman Road this week and played in the U21s on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Blues are again being linked with Coventry City right-back Cyrus Christie, 20, who is also mentioned in connection with Blackburn.

Burst onto the scene in 2010/11, and to be fair even in the early parts of the next season he was doing okay, making an impact, scoring a couple of goals. He can't have got that bad in 2 years? i_like_that_bolder added 21:24 - Aug 27 Newboy, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic, I hope so. Those players have all gone because we got rid as they weren't up to it, or even close. Murray couldn't even get in the Plymouth team after they realised he was over rated and didn't score any goals for them. But you knew that right?!
