Big Cheese Comedy Club at Portman Road
Thursday, 14th Nov 2013 14:39

The Big Cheese Comedy Club is presenting a triple headliner night involving Ivan Brackenbury, Ian Cognito and Paddy Lennox in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite at Portman Road on Thursday 28th November. The show starts at 8pm (doors open at 7pm) with Carl ‘Big Cheese' Day as the MC for the evening.

Tickets cost £12 in advance from ITFC Direct or from Big Cheese Comedy, where you can also read more detail about the acts and other upcoming comedy nights elsewhere.

Ivan Brackenbury is an Edinburgh comedy award nominee, sketch writer and comedian. His real name is Tom Binns but to an army of fans he is best known as Ivan Brackenbury, Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Hospital Radio's flagship presenter. To newer audiences, he is also Ian D Montfort, Sunderland's leading psychic and spirit medium.

Ian Cognito is one of the best comics on the national circuit, a veteran who clearly knows what he’s doing as he spits his darkly humorous vitriol over an unsuspecting crowd. Outspoken, opinionated, and totally clued up, this man’s take on the world will have you convinced and convulsed (with laughter).

Paddy Lennox is an engaging and instantly likeable comic, Paddy combines topical material with observational routines.

The MC will be none other than The Big Cheese himself, Carl Day, one of the three founding members of Big Cheese Comedy Club. It is only fitting that as this is the first Big Cheese night at Ipswich Town, that he also makes his home debut having spent time on the wider comedy circuit. His engaging, friendly style combined with his ability laugh at himself has made him a popular act on the circuit.

To be honest this is a pretty strong line up....just becuase it doesn't have the 'TV Stars' on it doesn't mean its a lesser bill of acts. All three comics are well known on the circuit. The comics you see regularly on the telly generally have toned down their acts to be more family friendly, or upped the vitriole to cause maximum shock! I am looking forward to seeig them!

Ian is a major comedy talent who has been on the circuit for years and years....he has refused to do TV as he would need to water down his material!

Tom Binns aka Ian and Ivan is a well known comic who has appeared on Radio Four numerous times and is well respected in the comedy world.

Paddy is a relatively new comic (well....2001 debut) who has appeard on Talksport and irish TV). he is very well reviewed and should be a laugh!

And yes I am a 'stand up' geek!
