Taylor and Anderson Doubts for Forest Trip
Thursday, 12th Dec 2013 14:47

Striker Paul Taylor is over his shoulder injury but is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s game at Nottingham Forest, due to illness. Former Forest man Paul Anderson is also unwell, but better news is that Cole Skuse is fine despite being subbed with an ankle injury during last week’s 2-1 victory over Huddersfield.

Manager Mick McCarthy says Taylor was due to return to training this morning: “His injury’s fine, he was going to train today but he’s got the winter vomiting bug, so he’s not in. We’ll see how he is.

“Paul Anderson was ill as well, I don’t think he was as bad, but he hasn’t trained today. They’re the only two. Cole Skuse trained today and he’s fine.”

Young right-back Elliott Hewitt remains on the sidelines with the ankle injury which curtailed his loan spell with Gillingham.

Next thing Paul Taylor will have to be sent out on loan again because he wont be match fit. I don't think we will miss Anderson much anyway Come on you Blues sent them crosses in Cressey lets turn over forest.

We need to get Paul Taylor back.
He gives us a different attacking option.

Not so sure about Paul Anderson.
Maybe we can put Jordan Graham in.

It's gonna be interesting. Forest is a hard place to go and get a result.

I think taylor was ill when he did the hospital visits, would be only reason he had to look so miserable in the pictures!

Lets hope Paul Taylor was feeling unwell in the picture taken at one of the hospital visits. Not that I wish the chap ill;but he did look miserable as if he didn't want to be there;but lets give him the benefit of the doubt.Hope he gets well soon.
As for Paul Anderson,he has added nothing to Micks squad, and I feel that he is the only bad acquisition by MM.Probably wouldn't have got him but was anxious to get rid of Jet.
Have seen ups and downs in over 50 years following Town, and like most feel that ITFC are on the up at the moment.
We mustn't forget that Mr Mc carthy has only been here for just ovet 13 months and had a lot of sorting out to do after he came.
Lets just hope that the club keep the matchday ticket prices in the lower brackets for the rest of the season,so that the crwods come flocking back and help the club get into the playoffs.

Is it me or is Taylor a sick note, if it's not one thing it's another - that's the way it's being going since he joined us, as for Anderson no big loss.

No he's just had two injuries. Both from fouls btw. Now he's picked up the sseasonal vomiting bug.

I mean in comparison to the actual time on the pitch

let's not kid ourselves, MM knows full well Anderson isn't performing stunningly (however he chooses to boost the guy's confidence to the press) so Anderson will feel the pressure to keep his place in the squad. Anderson will be gutted he's missing out!

Didn't manage to get to the last game, what did you guys make of Graham when he came on?

......... one thing is for sure if there are any 'sick notes' in the squad - MM will sort them - he's not someone to condone those kind of people. As for the two mentioned - not so sure about either as to their longevity at Portman Road.

Anderson is doing the job that mm is asking him to do, and doing it well. like every1 when he signed I was expecting him to be an out and out winger, but mm has asked him to play a narrower, more defensive role. if, as I have done, ne of you criticising him, actually watch him for a spell during a gsme, youll see just how much he contributes to the team. yes, id like to see him provide more going forwards too, but he is not playing badly in the role given to him.

Lets hope Taylor was not ill when he went on a hospital visit with vulnerable patients. That would be irresponsible. Virus happen though. However both Anderson and Taylor seem to pick up their fair share of injuries etc.

Both of these players will prove their worth before too long. We have a tiiiiny little squad.

blues1 im sorry but Anderson is league 1 at best. All this rubbish about playing the role given to him is just a weak excuse.
Does that explain why when he has the chance to play like a winger he doesnt have the ability to beat his man or get a cross in or pass to a blue shirt?
When Edwards played against Blackburn there was a world of difference down our right hand side.
Judging by comments on here 90% of fans think hes poor and adds nothing to the team, we cant all be wrong can we?

Probably explains why I didn't see Paul Taylor with other Town players at West Suffolk Hospital. At least the patients were spared his cheerful persona! I'd also like to thank the players who signed autographs and sent their best wishes to my mate in hospital who has suffered a bad stroke. Their kindness was well appreciated.

I think we'll probably line up with a 4-4-2 and play for a 0-0 on Saturday. To be honest I'd take a draw away at Forest without doubt.

blues1 - ...... agree with you - Anderson is being asked to do the job he is doing, this is not his natural game.
Fair to say that some would not recognise that - hence the criticism.

Anderson not our best player. Won't be missed
Taylor needs time on the pitch and gives another dimension pity he keeps getting cracked
