Nine in Nine for Marriott Thursday, 26th Dec 2013 23:24 Blues striker Jack Marriott netted his ninth goal for Woking in his ninth game for the Skrill Premier side but couldn’t prevent them from falling to a 3-1 defeat at home to Salisbury this afternoon.
The 19-year-old put the Cards ahead in the 14th minute from former Cambridge striker Scott Rendell’s cross, but the Wiltshire club hit back in the 17th, 16th and final minutes.
Marriott tweeted: “Nice to score again but a very disappointing result, got to make it right on Saturday!”
Elsewhere, young left-back David October picked up a yellow card and played the full 90 minutes as his loan club Histon drew 0-0 at Boston.

Great move for him this, hope he's loaned out to a league 1 or 2 club from january! He'll be a star for us someday!

Well done Jack .and as Sindre suggests consider raising the bar next year. This is likely in MM's plans anyway. Keep it up Jack...we're proud of you!

I hope Woking have got enough points by Xmas to stay up as Jack does seem to be carrying them with his goals. Like everyone else I think the remainder of the year in league one or two would improve him further. Pompey could do with a forward!!!

Completely agree with Sindre94. Next part of development will hopefully be a league 1 or 2 club.

Agree that Marriott needs to play at a higher level. But can't help thinking how many goals Nouble would've scored euphoria similar loan move.

Excellent, but we really mustn't rush things. Playing for lower league clubs on loan will be perfect for him for the time being. Hopefully in a couple of seasons time, he's scoring regularly on loan at a Championship club before coming back to us and scoring prolifically in the Premier League!!!!

.......... natural Goalscorers will score goals at any level - Jack is a natural, and do you really think he wouldn't score in the Championship ? Not all Championship players are cultured stars, and he would turn some of them for fun - right now.

Even though It would be logical to send Marriott on loan to a League 1 or 2 club after he returns, I actually believe he is a better player that Nouble has ever been. Would prefere to see Nouble go out on loan over Marriott :(

@ JLCitfc I agree with you but I feel that MM will always go for the biggest lump and that is IMO why Nouble will always and wrongly be preferred to Marriott. What is without doubt is Marriott will have a career in football at a high level whether it is with Ipswich or not remains to be seen.
