Town Unchanged at Boro
Saturday, 8th Mar 2014 14:13

Mick McCarthy has named an unchanged side for today’s game at Middlesbrough with Paul Taylor starting in a three-man attack.

Luke Hyam and Jonny Williams return from hamstring injuries to take a place on the bench. Academy second-year scholar Teddy Bishop travelled with the senior side for the first time — Anthony Wordsworth having suffered a back problem in Thursday training - but is not included in the 18.

Frazer Richardson is unavailable against his parent club, while club captain Carlos Edwards also didn’t make the trip.

Boro make six changes from the side which lost 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday last week with former Blue Grant Leadbitter returning and skippering the side.

Middlesbrough: Konstantopolous, Gibson, Chalobah, Varga, Carayol, Leadbitter (c), Friend, Tomlin, Graham, Omeruo, Ledesma. Subs: Steele, Kamara, Butterfield, Williams L, Main, Atkinson, Morris.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Cresswell, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Tabb, Green, Taylor, Murphy, Nouble. Subs: Loach, Anderson, Hunt, Mings, Hyam, Williams, Ebanks-Blake.

Mm was never gonna go gung-ho away from home, so not surprised to see Williams only on the bench. Disappointed but not surprised the 'terrific Tabby' has kept his place.

That's the strongest bench I can remember us having in a very long time

The bench is stronger than the starting line up. How on earth Tabb keeps his place is a mystery. He was truly shocking last week. Williams should be starting on the left. The comedy joke Nouble still gets picked also. Amazing.

No Williams in the starting line up is disappointing, he'll be back at Palace in a few weeks time so makes you think what's the point for them and us! - as mentioned the old favs Tabby and Nouble still in there, no surprise.

I can understand Frank keeping his place as he was not bad last week...but Tabby, poor yet again last time out but still in with Williams on the bench....frustrating.!

Why change a winning team? Especially as it was our first win in a while.
