Young Town XI at Hampton and Richmond
Tuesday, 28th Oct 2014 12:05

A young Town XI are taking on Ryman Premier League Hampton and Richmond Borough in a friendly at their Beveree Stadium this evening (KO 7.45pm).

The match effectively replaces yesterday’s scheduled U21 match away at Cardiff City, which was postponed.

Town are set to field a young development side led by Mark Kennedy with no senior players involved.

The game is also likely to give boss Mick McCarthy another chance to take a look at Hampton and Richmond left-back George Wells, who recently impressed while playing for Town’s U21s in the Premier League Cup victory over Swansea at Portman Road. The 18-year-old was previously with Chelsea and QPR’s youth set-ups.

Tickets cost £5 with entry for children aged 16 and under and Hampton and Richmond season ticket holders free.

Town XI: Crowe, Emmanuel, Wyatt, McDonnell, Robinson, Clarke, Galvin, Benyu, McQueen, Patterson, McLoughlin. Subs: Marsden, Kenlock, Guldbrandsen, Ramadan, Ellis.

I shall pop along there too, if I get back from work in time and the trains are running.
Shame 2 or 3 seniors won't be playing, some of them could do with a decent run-out.

Three all draw...

Not much to report, I don't think. No stand out town players, but they all equipped themselves okay. The lad George (HRFC left back) did okay. Best player on the Park looked like the HRFC number 11, to me.

No sign of Mick or TC.
