Town Issue Charlton Ticket Update
Tuesday, 30th Dec 2014 16:16

Town have issued a ticketing update ahead of this evening’s home game against Charlton Athletic (KO 7.45pm). The Blues are expecting a crowd of more than 24,000, the second-highest attendance of the season so far, and are advising supporters to arrive early to avoid queues.

Tickets have been selling fast in the last few days with the lower tier of the Sir Bobby Robson Stand having sold out and a very limited number of seats available in the upper tier.

Fans after specific seats in any stand are advised to book as early as possible online via ITFC Direct using the Print at Home facility.

There have been large queues at Planet Blue throughout the day and sales will cease when the turnstiles open at 6.15pm.

After that tickets can only be purchased from a limited number of turnstiles with most cash only and a couple accepting cards. A full list can be found on the club site. All the other turnstiles will be ticket-only entrances.

Fans collecting their recently purchased half-season tickets can do so from Portman Road’s main reception before 5pm or from 6.15pm onwards from the Ticket Enquiry Centre on Portman Road (between turnstiles 9 and 10).

Town say they are unable to move season ticket seats on a matchday, however, upgrades can be processed at Planet Blue (before 6.15pm) and at the Ticket Enquiry Centre (from 6.15pm).

problem is when all these fans brave it through the bad weather and the good times and the bad times week in week out and then all of a sudden if we make it to the premiership all those armchair supporters get out of them chairs and make it hard for other supporters to get in (26000 plus in premier league then down to 16000 in championship) you know who you are out there

What a load of cobblers!! "if your a true fan you will watch them no matter what" I've supported Town over 30 years, but mostly only attend about 10 matches a season, yes because of cost & work commitments, does that therefore not make me a true fan?!?!

alliedaz added 17:07 - Dec 30
why minus me if you watch games now fair enough but next season if you are not a season ticket holder you will not get a ticket because fans come from nowhere and snap them up is that true or false

If people had limited money whay would some of them have spent it watching the utter dross we have been served for a few years..we are now playing watchable football and followers of town are coming back..they have not no town fans who have just decided ..."ohhh look ITFC are playing well lets pay money to watch them..they could well be fans of the club that have limited time and/ or money so to spend it watching town now is "worth" the money..why complain more through the gates means more money in the club at the end of the day...are they stopping you getting a seat..?? doubt it , so whats the problem..get a grip..They are town fans at the end of the day and the more we get through the gates the less tickets have to cost if we go up.

Sick of all the people on here thinking they are some sort of 'better than thou' super fan because they get to x number of games. We all have different lives, live in different places, (in my case Liverpool) have more or less time and money than others etc. Previous comments are also spot on, keane destroyed morale and belief and it has taken time and performances to rebuild.

larrylamb i do listen to you and yes i bet the season tickets double if we go up next season plus away fans and my point is pity some of these fans aint around all the time and instead of turning up when we are doing well

Having been a town fan since 75, I've watched them home and away, because of family and work commitments I rarely go now, but am braving the cold to go tonight. True fans can't always make the games, but always look for the town result first and are just as disappointed as attendees who go, when they lose.

Just stop moaning and enjoy tonight, we have a great team spirit, a fantastic manager and are in the middle of our best run for years, of course people are going to come streaming back to PR.

Its a constant evolution, many of the "die hard" fans of today weren't born when i went to my first game around the time Robson took over. Many more are a result of the George Burley era and our last excursion into the premier league. The fact that more people are going to PR is all that matters, if they like what they see they will return, and maybe bring others, the club needs bigger attendances every week so make them welcome, remember we all started sometime, most of us because the team was doing well at that time !

Alliedaz , i agree it,s is a shame , but there are lots of reasons why , and even saying "well we were are crap to watch" is fair enough , if any fan does not want to pay 27.50 or more to watch crap football then fair enough , but have to disagree there is no way we will get 24,000 season ticket holders in any league..maybe go from 12 to 18k a 50 % increase but that still leaves 7k seats for home fans..and as mentioned any of those can still get a silver membership which should ensure a seat..while i do sympathize , i dont agree and a lot of these "not fans statements get right on my wick...(not yours i might add.!!!)

I thought i would put my two pennyworth on this debate, i have not been in Portman rd for 5 years now, yet i listen and watch every game, constantly reading the news on TWTD,
And why have i not been? as much as i would love to!!

I,m disabled with a spinal injury, live alone, cannot walk more than about 20 yards, how would i get or afford to walk through a turnstile? am i a lessor fan?

I live near Scumberland. Ive followed Town since i was a boy back in the early 70'-80's and have spent a fortune since then following Town. Id luv to live nearer then go to every home game. So does that make me not a true fan? With some of the rubbish weve played in recent years is it a wonder people have dropped off? But i bet theyve all carried on watching out for Town. So i say lets just all get behind the boys again and have the good times together again. A Tractor boy till i die!!! COYB together!!!

A couple of silly comments here. We all support the same team so I'm not sure why there's arguing over this. We are a well known club with fans up and down the country and many of those can't afford the luxury of going to every game. A home game costs me £100 for the day and there are plenty of people in similar positions. I assume the ones moaning are ones who live close by as they probably don't realise the struggles it is to afford these things now a days. If we get more fans then great! Were never going to sell out week in week out anyway so the more the merrier? Let's make PR a loud place tonight! COYB

Some people just don't use their noggin Karl's Dad. Hope there's a more 3D option available for you tonight, although alas I'm doubtful given the lack of FLS coverage for this one (one has unfailingly gone hand in hand with the other thus far). Oh and we'll make sure there's a ticket available for you next season Allie, collective TWTD goodwill and all that.

Now COYB (tough, tough game)

I have supported Ipswich since 1971 and would love to be at PR this evening, yet I simply cannot afford the ticket, but this does not make me any lesser fan! I will be listening on the radio and cheering as loud as anyone else so please do not assume just because I cannot go to many games I support the team any less!!

I used to live in Hamburg, & would travel back 4 h/a games,I've lost many a job, relationship & my freedom watching town. I have ips tattoos and wanted to call my son Portman. I'm now in Felixstowe but commitments out of my control limits my trips to PR. After j duncan to roy & now the witty masters MM&TC, am I an armchair fan, DON'T think so!!! Just be happy were doing well & above naaaaaarwich(who my dad supported). ALWAYS IN OUR SHADOW...UP THE I.P.S.

I wish people would stop feeling the need to justify to idiots like Dav86 why they can't make every game. It's got sod all to do with him or anyone else that's unhappy about it. Ithere are 30,000 seats and i for one would rather they were filled than empty. There are numerous reasons why that isn't possible but whether it's your first game or 1000th, I look forward to seeing you there!
