Town Win Performance of the Week

Town’s Christmas victories over Brentford and Charlton have seen them carry off the League Managers Association’s LG Performance of the Week award.

The Blues beat the promotion-challenging Bees 4-2 at Griffin Park on Boxing Day, then defeated the Addicks 3-0 at Portman Road the following Tuesday.

A five-man LMA panel made up of chairman Howard Wilkinson, ex-Blues boss Joe Royle, Sir Alex Ferguson, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry judged the award.

Manager Mick McCarthy will be presented with a specially commissioned trophy made by Thomas Lyte of London.

rfretwell added 19:31 - Jan 8 Murph's goals video - Didsy is waiting for any knock downs from Murphs shots and headers but nothing comes back as they all end up in the net. Cue Charlton home, Didsy heads against the bar (having already struck both posts!)and Murph heads the rebound home! Oh well!
