Hewitt Recalled From Colchester
Wednesday, 25th Mar 2015 17:21

Elliott Hewitt has been recalled from his loan at Colchester United. The Wales U21 international had been due to spend the rest of the season with the U's.

The Blues are in need of cover at full-back with Tyrone Mings suspended for two games having picked up 10 bookings and Jonny Parr having missed the win at Watford after suffering a knock in the victory over Bolton.

Colchester boss Tony Humes is disappointed to lose the 20-year-old, who initially joined the League One club in October and made 24 starts, scoring one goal.

"We hoped we would have Elliott for the remainder of the season but Ipswich have taken him back for their run-in," Humes told the Colchester club site.

"He's done a great job in a couple of positions for us and we wish him well for the future."

With Mings and Parr out we have no full back cover. If Smith/Berra get suspended/injured we would slot Chambo in to CD and need Hewitt at RB
He is fit and playing well so he may have his part to play yet.It would be harsh to expect Clarke to play full back in the run in with out experience in this position.

Its easy to forget Hewitt is only 20! He has got some great experience this season and done very well in a tough league.

bluefeast - So who scored the goal against Sheffield Wednesday, there's a clue here he had a number 4 on the back of his shirt.
Would love to see Hewitt given the chance to shine, but will MM take a chance with so much at stake. That's a no then, he'll not risk it imo.

Fabulous that above comment from SouperJIm , my reply is as follows. Technically when we watch an event we do so by using our eyes ,in order to use our eyes they need to be open. So to watch our games with eyes shut is impossible. I guess thats a fact , as indeed its a fact it would seem that football envokes a range of opinion. If mine are different to yours thats great ,its all part and parcel of the opinion based circumstance that we as fans enjoy.

Agree with JAS that squad was a bit stretched for a time which Mick acknowledged.
However Freddie Sears brought in during window in Jan,with Reg, Chappers and Chris Wood since.
I feel that Clarke could cover the centre back slots with Elliott Hewitt on right side either at fb or rmf;so now feel JAS that your posts are a bit outdated;sorry, especially with a couple still to come back injury.
