Tabb Replaces Hunt at Wolves
Saturday, 18th Apr 2015 11:25

Jay Tabb replaces Stephen Hunt at left midfield in an otherwise unchanged Town side taking on Wolves in this lunchtime’s crucial play-off clash (Sky Sports 12 noon, KO 12.15pm).

Wolves, where Mick McCarthy spent six years as manager, Terry Connor was his assistant and briefly boss and Hunt and Christophe Berra were players, include former Town loanee Richard Stearman from the start at centre of the defence.

Wolves: Ikeme, Iorfa, Batth (c), Stearman, Golbourne, van La Parra, McDonald, Edwards, Sako, Afobe, Dicko. Subs: McCarey, Doherty, Henry, Doyle, Price, Ebanks-Landell, Jacobs.

Town: Bialkowski, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Skuse, Bishop, Parr, Tabb, Murphy, Sears. Subs: Gerken, Fryers, Anderson, S Hunt, Chaplow, Williams, Wood. Referee: Stuart Attwell (Warwickshire).

We are so confident, we are fielding only ten players.

Would have loved Hunt to have started this one.

Was also keen for Hunt to start but of course Mick regards Tabby as 'different class' . Have the feeling that Hunt might have scored early as playing against previous clubs often galvanises players who feel they have a point to prove.

Bit nervous about this. They have lots of pace up front plus left wing vs Chambo. Guessing Parr will have a responsible back up role.

Interesting. We didn't miss Tabb at all on Tuesday. He didn't set the world alight when he came on. But Hunt was ineffective also, so am not surprised with this team selection.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we should not be starting with Tabb. He's been totally ineffective during that first half. What does he bring to the team? Can someone please enlighten me?

He reminds me of the little kid in primary school who's always the last to get picked during the lunchtime kick around.
