Murphy Misses Out on Award Sunday, 19th Apr 2015 22:13 Town striker Daryl Murphy missed out on the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year award at this evening’s Football League Awards with Middlesbrough’s on-loan Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford carrying off the gong. Murphy, the division’s 24-goal top scorer, was shortlisted alongside Bamford and Watford’s Troy Deeney after a vote by Championship managers. The Football League Awards were handed out at a ceremony at The Brewery in London. Former Town striker Jordan Rhodes was named in a Team of the Decade picked to celebrate the Awards' 10th anniversary. Murphy, who was named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for December, has already carried off the Town supporters’ Player of the Year, Junior Blues and Platinum Members awards.
