Released duo Darren McQueen and Ben Wyatt have joined Ryman League Division One North Maldon and Tiptree, who are managed by former Blues defender and Academy coach David Wright.

Striker McQueen, 20, joined the Blues last summer after a trial, having been released by Spurs and was a regular in the U21s last season. He made his only senior appearance as a sub in the Capital One Cup defeat at Crawley.

Full-back Wyatt, 19, signed from Norwich at the same time, again after a trial, and also featured for the U21s, but failed to break into the first team before being released alongside McQueen at the end of 2014/15.

Wright recently left his part-time role at Playford Road to join Colchester United’s staff, while also managing Maldon and Tiptree.

BlueKush added 16:06 - Jul 28 McQueen needs to get on the weights or convert his position to a winger. Maybe he's just young and still filling out. There's no doubt he's got ability and he should be back in the football league soon if he works hard enough.
