Clarke Nets First Senior Goal Saturday, 2nd Jan 2016 19:35 On-loan Town defender Matt Clarke netted his first senior goal as his Portsmouth side beat Josh Yorwerth and Josh Emmanuel’s loan club Crawley 3-0 at Fratton Park. Clarke got in front of Yorwerth - who limped off injured in the 23rd minute - to nod home in the 13th minute to see Pompey on their way to the win with ex-Blue Gary Roberts scoring the third. On Thursday, Town boss Mick McCarthy confirmed that Yorwerth and Clarke can remain with their loan clubs until the end of the season. Clarke will not be able to face his parent club in next Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at Portman Road. Emmanuel, whose spell at the Broadfield Stadium is up today, came on as a sub at half-time for the Red Devils, only his second appearance since joining the League Two side a month ago.
Elsewhere, Cameron Stewart’s loan spell at Doncaster is also up today but the winger - who McCarthy has said can leave the Blues - missed the 3-0 win at Southend as he is out with a back injury. Keeper Michael Crowe was an unused sub for Stevenage as they drew 2-2 at home to Leyton Orient. Young striker Cemal Ramadan played the first 78 minutes as Bury Town lost 2-0 in a West Suffolk derby at AFC Sudbury in the Ryman Division One North.
