Wednesday, 9th Mar 2016 17:55

An extremely rare Ipswich Town programme goes up for auction at Lockdales in Martlesham later this month with a £200 price tag.

It was produced by the club, then in the Southern League, for the Eastern Counties Cup final between Harwich and Parkeston and Lowestoft Town played on May 1st, 1937.

There is a catalogue guide price of £180 to £200 and the auction, which includes a large number of other items of sporting memorabilia, will take place on March 19th.

I had quite a few of similar programmes up my parents loft. Worth a nose through I guess.

I've got a Town vs Southend in Div3 ( South) that looks just like the one above......found it in my loft along with some very old newspapers . The sports pages of which showed a photograph of a young handsome Bobby Robson, sporting his "lucky waistcoat" as he and the rest of the England team boarded the plane to play Russia. To my dying day I shall never know why I didn't keep that paper!!

They used that style of programme for many years, i have one that looks very similar in style from March 1956 versus norwich in mint condition. We won 4-1 then 3 days later we lost 3-2 at carrot road. 2 five goal thrillers, TWTD's
