Murphy Out But Bishop and McGoldrick on Bench
Monday, 4th Apr 2016 13:34

Blues boss Mick McCarthy says striker Daryl Murphy won’t be involved in Tuesday’s home game against Charlton and is a doubt for the match against Brentford on Saturday, but confirmed that Teddy Bishop and David McGoldrick will be amongst the subs for the Addicks’ visit.

Murphy suffered a calf injury while away with the Republic of Ireland and missed the weekend trip to Wolves.

“Daryl won’t be available for Tuesday’s game and he’s a doubt for Saturday,” McCarthy said.

“Everyone else is OK, everybody from Saturday and Ainsley Maitland-Niles is back in the squad, so they’re all OK.”

McCarthy confirmed that Teddy Bishop, who travelled to Wolves without being in the 18, will be on the bench, alongside David McGoldrick, a late sub at Molineux.

The Town boss says there is no news on when Ryan Fraser might return to Suffolk with the on-loan Bournemouth man undergoing his rehab from his hamstring injury back with his parent club: “No, but he won’t be here for tomorrow or Saturday’s game.”

Meanwhile, asked again whether he had received any contact from Aston Villa he said there had been none.

Hopefully mcgoldrick will get more than 3 minutes. What was that about MM? As for Bish, love to see him get some game time. That's if we can drag himself away from his mobile!

McGoldrick was about to come on just as Knudsen picked up a knock. So MM waited to see how that developed before making the sub. So it was 'about' sensible management.

I also recall the Foley signing meltdown. 'Poor' was the general consensus from the usual suspects. They knew it all before and they know it all now. Hilarious.

Think Mick was a little taken aback by reaction to Rotherham loss, although the stubborn Yorky would never admit it.

However did change side on Saturday and looked better for it.

If Foley was in for Douglas, and in the 2nd half plenty of gametime for Didsy and Kevin Bru;you never know we could win comfortably, instead of usual nail biting finale.

Would be nice to see Town play with shackles off

It's time to give the talented players who are constructive with the ball.Hyam and Douglas are no asset to the team. the only way they break up attacks and protect the back four is by fouling. They haven't a clue about defending or to create attacking constructive football.Hoofball was always Micks game since he was a player. Football is a different game nowadaysYou have to be creative to get your rewards. To see what is being dished up in the last two years is heartbreaking?Mick won' t change as he doesn't know how,and to give supporters what they want to see would go against his ideas and he would have no answer to give us.He would never climb down from his high horse and say sorry you supporters were right.Lets hope a team selection in the right direction tomorrow night comes forth but really this is probably wishful thinking.

If MM thought our players were capable of playing pretty, stylish football and winning games, he would do it. His view is that the long-ball game is all the current crop are reliably capable of doing, so that's how we play. If he had more funds to buy better quality, he would do so. It's unfair to blame him for doing the best he can within strict, some would say unfair, financial limitations.
