Digby and Dozzell on Target as U23s Win at Watford
Monday, 31st Oct 2016 16:00

Paul Digby’s header and an Andre Dozzell penalty saw Town’s U23s to a 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

Digby headed home a Dozzell freekick on the quarter hour, then the 17-year-old midfielder made it 2-0 from the spot after Josh Emmanuel was felled in the 67th minute.

Michael Folivi pulled a goal back for the home side with 10 minutes remaining, also from the penalty spot, but Gerard Nash’s side hung on for their fourth win of the season, their first away from home.

The U23s are next in action at Portman Road on Friday in their second Premier League Cup group game against West Brom, having been defeated 3-0 by Liverpool in their first (KO 7pm).

This is better from Gerrard Nash and the boys and if only Town the first team could replicate this result at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday!

That's more like it. Sounds a lot more positive than the display against Cardiff last week. Great stuff.

Excellent performance today and the balance of the team was right. The midfield trio of Dozzell, Blanchfield and Benyu is encouraging as they dominated the midfield.

I've got Nash in mind as a future manager for us.

Whatever Town's troubles at the moment, I have just watched Norwich's game Saturday at Brighton, talk about defensive errors!!
I digress well done lads good result and would like to see more young players making their mark soon.

Great result from an U23 team that was obviously picked by Nash without having to accommodate 1st team squad players returning from injury etc.
