Warnock: No Complaints About Bamba Red Card
Saturday, 10th Dec 2016 18:37

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock had no complaints regarding Sol Bamba’s second-half red card for his outburst towards fourth official Charles Breakspear, although felt referee James Adcock could have prevented the incident from taking place.

“When you look at the DVD Douglas is very clever — he’s left his studs on his ankle and the referee’s not seen it, obviously,” Warnock said.

“An experienced ref blows up there because Bamba’s down and it stops all the hassle.

“Instead he plays on, tries to give an advantage, which we didn’t want, on the halfway line, and the it all erupts.

“I’ve just said to him, if you blow up early there it stops all that. Now we’ve got a man sent off, we’ve got one of my best players missing for three games, it’s been like Dunkirk for the last 20 minutes and you could have just stopped it.’

“It doesn’t condone Sol’s behaviour, that’s a red card, I’ve no complaints about that.

“But it’s disappointing because I thought we did ever so well and at the end I thought we tried to win the game. We had some good chances late on, three or four.”

Warnock tried to stop Bamba in his tracks as he approached the touchline: “I couldn’t get on his back, I couldn’t lift myself high enough to get on his back, I should have jumped on his back! I could see what was coming.

He added: “I think Douglas was clever. Douglas was smirking when he came out today and I’m sure when you see it in slow motion he leaves his studs in and he’s ended up getting [us down to] 10 men

“But because of that I think we had a great chance of winning it because it revitalised us.

“I think they [Ipswich] knew it was a little bit unjust. I couldn’t understand the consistencies.

“The other incident, Junior Hoilett going down the left side of the box, when you see the centre-half’s arm go out and pole-axe him and he doesn’t give a freekick, he doesn’t give a booking.”

Warnock says he will speak with Bamba tomorrow: “I didn’t really want to talk to Sol after the game so I will see him tomorrow. He just lost his rag but it was an aggressive attitude and I don’t condone Sol’s behaviour.

“He is distraught in the dressing room and quite rightly. For me, he is one of the best in the Championship and that was a blemish I haven’t seen in his make-up.”

By the sounds of it we're the unlucky ones as Douglas has got away with a straight red, damn.

Who cares what Warnock thinks or says..
The only report from TWTD OR ITFC tonight should be a statement saying Mcarthy has been sacked.. I ve had a gut full off everything to do with this era at ITFC.

Warnock - we've got no complaints either. It was the only bit of entertainment in the entire afternoon.

Think the ref was more on your side Neil to be fair. We should have had 2 penalties before hand the free kick in the last minute was enough to leave Tom Daley gobsmacked! But give Bamba a pat on the back for me. Only half decent point of the game!

Ntoms97. Dont know where u think we should have had 2 penalties? CertaCertainly the Lawrence one wasn't. Can't even remember another incident in their box. But they could well have had one in the 1stchdlf when Berra clearly shoved Hoillett to the ground. Thought the ref had a decent game tbh.

My overriding view of Cardiff was a group of ill disciplined talented players ! If Warnock sorts that out they will move up the table . As for Ipswich we lack a manager with a clue . MM doesn't have a effing clue and when we are against 10 men we should use the extra space to create chances and I thought this substitutions were poor . When he brought off Douglas the game was crying out for Joniesta who could have pushed forward and created something. If I were him I would go back to Palace as MM would rather play anyone apart from him.
Why isn't the club sacking MM as the crowds are dwindling fast and he's costing us thousands every week . How many season ticket holders will renew next year in the 1st division which is where we will end up playing crap football .
