Knudsen Could Miss Rest of Season
Wednesday, 5th Apr 2017 14:36

Left-back Jonas Knudsen could miss the final six games of the season due to the shoulder injury which kept him out of last night’s 3-0 home victory over Wigan Athletic.

"He's damaged his shoulder, it looks like he'll need an operation,” manager Mick McCarthy told BBC Radio Suffolk after the match.

"He could rest it for three or four weeks and come back, but we've got six games to play.

"The last thing I want is to bring him back in the last game and he gets injured and misses the start of pre-season."

Centre-half Steven Taylor could also miss the remainder of the campaign having suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury in the first half last night.

Meanwhile, McCarthy says he believes there’s “every chance” that the Blues will receive enquiries about keeper Bartosz Bialkowski the summer, a number of clubs having shown interest in the former Polish U21 international in January.

“I've already bigged him up as the best in the league,” he added. “We've got him under contract, but we all know if a huge offer comes in from a big club, then it's difficult to stop it if it's the right deal. Let's hope not."

Sorry rickw. Not much Of what Muck says is honest in my opinion.

prebbs - you can't miss what you never had!!

TLA. Unfortunately by not picking players on merit means MM has created this mentality from fans. The only way players like Knudsen, Chambo, Skuse get left out is because of injury. Not form. So people are glad of an injury as it will likely improve the team. Only MM can be blamed for creating that attitude.

Quite right BlueMacines. Mick's unjustified and unbelievable favouritism for certain players has created the toxic attitude amongst fans whereby they end up wishing injuries upon players. Just one of the many reasons why Mick has to go.
