Town’s signing of Rangers striker Joe Garner now looks unlikely to be confirmed before Friday.

The Blues are continuing to wait for paperwork relating to the deal to be finalised at the Rangers end.

The 29-year-old’s move is not understood to be in any jeopardy, the former Preston frontman having undergone a medical earlier this week, a £1 million fee and personal terms - believed to be a three-year contract - having previously been agreed, although it is possible it could drag into next week.

Garner is getting married in his native Lancashire tomorrow but that won’t have an impact on the completion of his switch with the striker not due to be back at Portman Road until the start of pre-season training on June 26th.

Beat the competition of Bolton and the 'bigger' club in Leeds. This makes signing Danny Ward unlikely, but this definitely shows Ipswich still has some pulling power. Let's hope this opens the doors to a few more prospects. Great news!

Not because of the stick some of the fans have given him, but the poor sod is getting married at the weekend, then he's signing a contract with Ipswich. This must be the most miserable weekend of his life. (it's a joke before you "Ipswich can do no wrong" campaigners start marking me down! :)
