McGoldrick: We Owe Fans a Derby Win
Friday, 20th Oct 2017 10:05

Striker David McGoldrick believes the players owe Town fans a derby victory, the Blues’ last win against their greatest rivals Norwich City having come back in April 2009 when Jim Magilton's side beat the League One-bound Canaries 3-2 at Portman Road.

“Since I have been here we have never beaten Norwich so hopefully we can end that,” McGoldrick said in an interview for Sunday’s match programme, which will also cover his future with Town and the Republic of Ireland.

“We have a good squad and perhaps they are not as strong as they have been in the past, although we know they are a good side. We’ll give it right go. I think we owe the fans a victory.

“It’s a great game for the supporters. Derbies always are. The passion, the intensity, it’s all there. I’m looking forward to it.”

A wonderful player in great form!

A derby win would be so very sweet - and some McGoldrick magic would be even sweeter!

The players all seem very up for it. Fingers crossed Mick doesn't bottle it with a typical negative team selection.

And this time fingers crossed we have a full fit MacG which never seems to happen against Norwich... they fear him big time..

I have a feeling Mick will be nervous by Norwich being better on the ball and thus will be playing a lot of football bypassing our midfield. Hope i am wrong.Think this game requires a flair player so let Celina start though Mick seems reluctant!

Lightningboy - I was thinking just that ... how you can sack a young and (seemingly) successful manager so soon after a thrilling and determined derby win is totally beyond me ... so the Mick Out brigade have to pray we win on Sunday!! I'm hoping for a win for different reasons ... because I support Ipswich and cannot stand the thought of losing to Norwich yet again!

Lets just face the facts we are just not good enough under Muck the miserable and the best we can hope for is to nick a point off a club that actually want to succeed.
