Rowe Completes Lincoln Loan Switch
Tuesday, 2nd Jan 2018 12:11

Winger Danny Rowe has completed his half-season loan switch to League Two Lincoln City.

Rowe, 25, has found it tough to break into the Blues' first team squad this season and has made only one Championship sub appearance in addition to a further game from the bench and his only start of the campaign in the Carabao Cup.

In total, Rowe, who is contracted to Town until the summer of 2020 with the club having an option for a further season, has made three starts and four sub appearances for the Blues having been signed from Macclesfield Town in January of 2017.

Revealing that the loan, which runs to May 31st, was set to take place once the January window opened last month, manager Mick McCarthy said: “It’s a good move for him, they’ve got a chance of getting promoted.

“And that will we great, it’ll be good for us because I still think Danny’s got something to offer, but he needs to play in a league side and if he has a really good second half of the season with Lincoln then that may push him further into the picture for us next season.”

Welcoming Rowe to Sincil Bank, Lincoln boss Danny Cowley said: "Danny Rowe is a top, top player. He’s someone we know well from his time at Macclesfield.

“We actually tried to bring him here when we first joined Lincoln but he had just signed a new deal with Macclesfield. The year we were at Braintree, he was the standout player in the National League.

“We’ve all seen what standout players in the National League can do in the Football League. The prospect of him joining us is really exciting.”

He added: ”Unfortunately he wasn’t available at Luton Town on New Year’s Day due to EFL registration rules.

"He's been training with us for the last week or so, and it’s great. He’ll be a fantastic acquisition to the group. He’s one of those players that will get supporters off their seats.”

Rowe could make his debut for the Imps at Rochdale in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday 9th January.

Sorry about repeats very small upload button on phone. I also like the sound of the Cowley's who knows where they might end up 😎

I thought we had a midfield crisis and a shortage of players, he has hardly been given a chance since he came here. We keep letting players go and seeing them succeed elsewhere. I suspect he will be replaced by some old journeyman on loan, who doesn't really give a fig.
It's time we gave the younger players a chance........perhaps when MM finally leaves???

I wonder why nobody have approached Lincoln for the 'Cowley bros'. Our fans seem to get excited with the thought. Good luck to Rowe!

Another winger MM is wasting, hope he doesn't disappear like the last half a dozen he has signed and not given a run in the team.

Why are we letting him go when we have injury crisis in midfield?

He gets fans off their seats that's what we need!!
Why let him go give him a chance with us!!
It should bring his confidence back playing regular football.
Good luck Danny⚽️

...... nothing makes sense with the Club anymore - other than to Evans, Milne, and McCarthy. No one else matters.
Every indication that we are heading in the wrong direction right now - whichever way you look at the current scenario,

Dino's words: If he has a good half season at Lincoln, then that might push him further for US NEXT SEASON ??? Could Dino be taking his Option up ???? anybody's Guess

It's because he refuses to run about like a dog chasing a beach ball.

Gutted he didn't get given more of a chance to prove himself this season. He looked hungry and I think he would of grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Good luck at Lincoln Danny. Hope to see you in a blue shirt again one day.

8 midfielders injured so we send one of the only fit ones we have out on loan rather than play him. Surely this is the time to give him a chance and see what he can do and play games in this league. OK Moore went out on loan because he wasn't gonna get to chance to play games but Rowe is different as we have no midfielders doh!

The right thing IMO, Rowe is similar to Celina, just not as good. He will have a good time there and hopefully get the experience Moore is having at Rotherham. I am confident that he will be back at Town a different player one day. Good luck Danny.

The current team gets people off their seats, usually to leave early and not return,
😩

Maybe he is just not good enough?! Do you really think MM would let him go if he was up to it...?

brittaniaman .......... he's going nowhere, he knows where he is extremely well of - with nothing being expected of him.

Mid Table Championship Mick - don't ask for, or expect more - it just isn't there, or expected of him by his paymaster unfortunately.
